Yet again, we evaluated prospects from the Pacific Northwest from Portland, Washington, and of course, local talent from right here in Minot. We may be done in Minot, but we still have two more in-person evaluations to compete over the coming days. Stay tuned, Prep Redzone subscribers, as August is going to be a fun month!
Chuck Bohart
Chuck Bohart
Chuck was undoubtedly a defensive end prospect I wish I would have gotten to watch more reps out of at the Minot State Prospect Camp as he showed athletic first steps on getting thru contact with his physicality. At 6’2 245 pounds, he showed noticeable pad-level with his pad-level and played much larger than his measurables might show off. Got to look at Chuck’s tape from 2021, and I love this young man’s latching ability. His ability to instinctively control the defensive linemen into the second level of the field and drive him off his feet, really stuck out in his skillsets. He has significant strength in his upper body to engage with a larger defender and with his active footwork as well. Slightly undersized for the offensive line as far as the next-level, but will be an effective defensive end prospect on Saturdays as Chuck has plenty of size you could add to his frame in a college football weight room. Holds multiple offers so far.
Dakota Filer
Dakota Filer
Dakota showed off reactive instincts coming in as a defensive back, as he showed upside with his physicality on the ball. His tape shows off a little bit of everything, as a cornerback that covers the deep ball efficiently. Where I like him most on tape is on special teams, as he has he shows an ambitious motor getting downhill quickly to get to the ball carrier. Dakota also shows patient vision in his return game, as he takes what he’s given from a blocking standpoint and creates a splash of burst around the edges of the football field. This young man is a tackling machine that is a sure-tackler whenever he’s near the ball and I would love to see this young man get a college football opportunity, as I see him as a senior season bloomer.

Teagen is one of more under the radar offensive line prospects I got to watch last Friday in Minot. I was impressed with his balance in his footwork when working with the offensive line group, as a smaller framed center (6’0 245) in the group. There isn’t much tape out on Teagen yet as he is a junior to be but the tape I could find, there is some upside there. He does a consistent job with attacking the hip of the defensive linemen, and that drives his leverage to the core. He also shows flexible hands when he works his pad level, as he generates more contact off those edges I mentioned. Excited to see what this young man can put together on tape for the Magicians in his upcoming junior season. High character kid too for his age.
Andrew Winczewski
Andrew Winczewski
Andrew is another Minot Magicians offensive linemen on our final list of standouts from the Minot State Prospect Camp. He showed early in the testing sessions and into Indy Drills just how competitive this young man is despite not having any tape as of yet going into his senior season. Andrew can be described as a well put together OL prospect frame wise, that has some physicality in his punching ability. He does have some rawness in his game when it comes down to his technique, as I would love to see him develop a stronger base going into his senior season with his stance and creating a more engaging first step off the snap. Excited to see what kind of tape Andrew puts together in the 2022 season for Minot, as I like this young man’s fight and hard-nosed demeanor in the trenches from what I saw at the Beavers Camp.
Garrett Farmer
Garrett Farmer
Garrett was another prospect on our list of standouts of standouts from Minot that passed the eye test once we got onto the fields for 1v1s after Indy. He showed some engaging speed with his get off ability and showed off ample athleticism when sliding thru high-traffic areas with his physical hands. This is a prospect you need to make sure you have your eyes peeled for, as he has sneaky versatility that measures higher than what you will see on tape when you get to watch him in person, as the tape from his junior season doesn’t do the full justice. Garrett is another 2023 prospect on this list that will need to have a booming senior season to get into that first offer category, as he is flying under the radar at the moment.
