Ole Miss has become more prominent in recruiting this side of the country recently. Coach Lane offers DL Aaris Bethea Aaris Bethea 6'2" | 260 lbs | DL Erasmus Hall | 2024 State NY Erasmus Hall 2024. Aaris is 6’3, 250 pound 4-star defensive lineman with quickness and speed to match his rank. His explosive first step and strength at point of attack consistently, on every play is why he is SEC worthy talent. He is dominant on the LOS, understands leverage points and can constantly clog holes. He usually lines up as a 3-tech or at the 5-tech spot in Erasmus 3-4 look. He is fundamentally sound with great active hands, using his power with no false steps and can attack inside or outside shade with efficiency.
(ATH)(TE) Jaylin Ballew Jaylin Ballew 6'3" | 210 lbs | TE Erasmus Hall | 2024 State NY Erasmus Hall 2024
At 6’3 and weighing 210 pounds, Jaylin is very dependable in the run or pass game. He is an elite blocker who often drives his man to the ground or well out of the play. Fundamental in moving his feet and keeps his hips in optimal position to maintain his power. In the pass game he shows very reliable hands and deceptive speed. I like that he doesn’t worry so much about making the route look pretty but reads the defense to sell and adjust his routes to consistently get open. A next level talent who is clearly a student of the game and coached well for the next level. Jaylin is Power 5 talent and will be exciting to watch his production this fall as we await his decision. His talent could be used well in Lane’s system but he also holds offers from Tennessee and Jackson State.
(DL) Preston J. Carey, St. Anthony’s 2026
PJ is 6’5 and weighs just about 250 pounds with a 6’6 wingspan. He has all of the physical gifts to dominate high school football for the next four years. At his size he moves and bends extremely well but I want to highlight how quickly he is able to learn and adjust his technique. He has elevated his stock during camps this summer because of his ability to learn quickly from coaches. This has landed him 6 full D-1 scholarships including Georgia and LSU. St. Anthony’s has weapons on all sides of the ball this year and with a player of Preston’s caliber dominating at the LOS, a state championship is definitely in contention to push him towards his NFL dreams.
(WR) Dylan Evans Dylan Evans 6'3" | 185 lbs | WR Orchard Park | 2023 State NY Orchard Park 2023
We continue to rave about New York State’s touchdown leader that is, 6’3, 185 pound Dylan Evans Dylan Evans 6'3" | 185 lbs | WR Orchard Park | 2023 State NY . He is on this list due to a well diverse portfolio of schools interested in him. One of the many is Vanderbilt. Dylan has already proved he is power 5 worthy but perhaps the most impressive thing about him is his off-field ability. Dylan shows the ability to perform at a high level on the field as well as the classroom as a member of the national honor society holding down a 3.7 GPA. Vandy is known is a the ‘Ivy League School of the South’ and by competing as a student-athlete in the hardest conference in the country Dylan could very well much have a future playing on Sundays. He also holds offers from Cornell, Marshall, and Purdue.
