Jake Schakel Jake Schakel 6'1" | 195 lbs | QB Emerald Ridge | 2024 State WA , 6’1″ 195lbs, Emerald Ridge
I’ve been raving about Schakel for a while now, and his recruitment has since seen a spark as well by picking up offers from Nevada, Florida Atlantic, and Colorado State. I’ve been impressed with his maturity and football IQ since he’s secured the QB1 job, as he carries himself well in all phases of the game. He’s poised in the pocket and throws with excellent anticipation and timing with the ability to hit all 3 levels of throws. He has a great understanding of when to utilize velocity vs touch, and has some impressive throws on film to finesse throws in with ease. It’s only the beginning for Schakel, as he projects to have a huge Jr. season with potential to see that stock rise relatively soon.
EJ Caminong EJ Caminong 6'2" | 195 lbs | QB Garfield | 2024 State WA , 6’2″ 195lbs, Garfield
Caminong has had a busy summer while igniting his recruitment, landing his first 3 offers from Washington, Oregon State, and Washington State. He possesses a natural arm talent with a smooth release and the ability to hit all 3 phases of throws with touch or velocity. I really like his ability to escape the pocket when needed to extend plays and deliver accurate throws off platfrom or from different arm angles. He’s checking every box you’d look for at the P5 level and is still growing and maturing, giving him strong upside in his recruitment.
Blake Springer Blake Springer 6'2" | 210 lbs | QB Monroe | 2024 State WA , 6’0″ 200lbs, Monroe
Springer lands the #3 QB ranking as he shows a ton of potential to become a dangeorus gunslinger as he continues to mature and sharpen up his skillset. I really like his arm strength as he gets the opportunity to showcase it often, frequently letting it fly downfield and also hitting those deep out routes with some zip. I’d like to see him hang in the pocket a tad longer, which I belive will come with maturity and experience. Defeinitely a talented 2024 QB to continue to monitor throughout the season.
Rocco Koch Rocco Koch 6'2" | 185 lbs | ATH Curtis | 2024 State WA , 6’2″ 185lbs, Curtis
Koch is a dual threat kid with the ability to make a difference on the ground or through the air, as he does an excellent job of extending plays and fidning receivers downfield or picking up chunks of yards with his legs. Impressive deep ball passer with good trajectory and placement to throw receivers open or drop it right in. Koch holds very good arm strength all around, whether he needs to stretch the field or fit the ball in a tight window, and does a good job of knowing when to use velocity vs touch.
Luke Gale Luke Gale 6'1" | 160 lbs | QB Eastmont | 2024 State WA , 6’1″ 160lbs, Eastmont
Gale does a solid job selling play action considering Eastmont runs the Wing-T, and does a pretty good job getting the ball out with timing. He’ll need to improve pocket mechanics and set his feet better at release, but still does a good job with ball placement and has shown the ability to use solid touch when stretching the field. Overall a solid young prospect with room to grow physically and mentally in the game, ultimately landing himself as the #5 QB in the ’24 class.
