Kamrean Johnson 6’5 215 WR
Johnson is a receiver with elite size and skill who will be a matchup nightmare for defensive coordinators around the state this coming fall. The Georgia Southern commit uses his next-level frame to box out defenders, make contested catches, and create an expansive catch radius for his QB. With solid concentration and strong hands to make tough catches, Johnson is a reliable option on the outside and takes advantage of smaller defenders lined up against him. He also shows a willingness to block and provide lanes on the outside. Look for Johnson to be one of the better receivers in the region and be a consistent option as the No.1 WR for the Bobcats.
Jordan Bolden 6’0 325 DT
Bolden is an interior lineman who can anchor a 3-4 scheme and be a playmaker for the defense. He has next-level size and athleticism and frequently is a disruptor. He shows an excellent first step and an uncanny ability to time snaps and shoot gaps. This quick twitch is rare for someone of his size and helps him generate a ton of TFLS. Though he’s explosive, he has enough strength to collapse pockets, move lineman forward, and can make tackles with one arm while fending off blockers with the other arm. He naturally takes up space with his frame and can successfully take on double teams consistently. As one of the more underrated interior linemen in the state, look for Boldin to be a force at the line of scrimmage and be a key contributor through the fall.
Cameron Pruitt 6’3 185 SS/OLB
Pruitt is an enforcer at the safety position who looks to assert his will on the opponent on every hit. He shows solid range when getting downhill on run plays and can break down in the open field to make tackles. Also, he is adept at staying alive when engaged in blocks and keeping his outside shoulder free to help stuff perimeter runs and shut down potential big plays. In pass coverage, Pruitt does a nice job of using his length to jam receivers and disrupt routes. Look for Pruitt to continue to hype his defense up with hard hits and downhill play from the safety position.
Demon Jones 6’0 211 MLB
Jones is one of the more versatile linebackers in the area. He excels at play recognition and puts himself in a position to make plays versus the pass and run. He shows solid discipline in the run game with gap integrity and reading his keys to get to the ball. . Also shows elite awareness when sinking back in coverage and can come away with deflections, interceptions, or mitigate yards after the catch when covering the middle of the field. In addition to being an asset in the run game, he has enough closing speed to be an effective QB spy and delayed blitzer. As a three-down linebacker Jones is going to give his team versatility and big plays against the run and pass.
Will James 6’0 180 CB
James is a defensive back who plays with extreme physicality. He shows toughness and strength beyond his size when pressing receivers at the line of scrimmage. He seems to want to dominate receivers and shut them out of the play every rep. Also has the mentality when supporting the run and protecting the perimeter. James has no issues flowing to the ball and making hits on ball carriers. James also shows a high motor and can be a stand-out special teams contributor. Rather it’s blocking punts, forcing fumbles, or making momentum-shifting tackles – James is liable to make a game-changing play. As a hard-nosed corner and special teams star, look for him to constantly be in the action throughout the fall.
