In this article, we’ll take a look at a sophomore at Hillcrest High School who already sports an FCS offer, an under-rated corner in San Antonio, and a trio of players in the panhandle who are looking to make some noise this season.
CB Bailey Fletcher – 6’1″ 175 / Reagan HS — @BaileyFletcher0 – Class of ‘24
Sophomore Stats: 45 tackles, 9 pass breakups, 2 interceptions
One of the better corners in the San Antonio area, Fletcher proves on film that he can lock up with any receiver that lines up across from him. Stays low and smooth in his backpedal, and he can plant and get downhill in a hurry. He can snuff out a screen in an instant, and in the run game, he’s a physical tackler. Should definitely be on recruiting boards around the state.
Currently has no offers.
DT Prophet Hishaw – 6’1″ 310 / Hillcrest HS — @ProphetHishaw51 – Class of ‘25
A monster presence along the defensive line for the Panthers as a freshman, Hishaw is only scratching the surface of how good he’ll become. Is immovable in the run game and consistently commands double teams. Over the next couple of seasons, he will undoubtedly develop more explosion and become a notable statewide recruit.
Currently has an offer from Texas A&M-Commerce.
ATH Kam Brown – 6’0″ 205 / Palo Duro HS — @KameronBrown04 – Class of ‘23
A swiss army knife who lines up at receiver, linebacker, and as a return man for the Dons, Brown is a very intriguing player. Defensively, he is at his best when filling gaps in the run game, but he’s also comfortable in space, able to smoothly drop into coverage. Anticipate a big senior season.
Currently has two Division 2 offers.
LB Brenyn Barnes – 6’0″ 205 / Tascosa HS — @Brenyn_Barnes – Class of ‘23
Barnes is a tough linebacker who likes to come downhill and stop runners in their tracks. He takes good angles and plays with proper pad level. Would be a nice pickup for a small college program that wants a hard-nosed, physical player.
Currently has no offers.
CB Tre’Alan Luckey – 5’11″ 160 / Tascosa HS — @Luckey_Tre2 – Class of ‘24
Luckey is one to keep an eye on as he enters his first varsity season in 2022. He needs to add some weight, but that will surely come over the next two years. He’s smooth in his backpedal, easily recognizes and jumps routes, and is a solid tackler on the perimeter.
