Donovan Davis, 6’0″ 165 (No. 44 DB, No. 348 Overall), Seventy-First HS. Donovan displayed good technique and speed to cover wide receivers, making it difficult to complete a pass against him. He is very active in the defensive secondary and one of the leaders on the defensive unit. Donovan finished last season with 53 total tackles, 2 of those tackles were for losses, and 5 interceptions. Donovan’s performance on the field will generate recruiting interest for him.
Demba Kante, 6’2″ 225 (No. 41 DL, No. 325 Overall), Cary HS. Demba displayed good technique and use of hands to control blockers while moving past them for stops. He is expected to step up his performance on the field during the upcoming season. Demba is expected to be one of the leaders on the defensive line and generate recruiting interest for him.
Dashaun Grant, 6’0″ 170 (No. 42 DB, No. 344 Overall), Wake Forest HS. Dashaun displayed patience to let plays develop and reacting quickly to make stops. He has good technique and good change of direction to cover receivers in man-coverage. Dashaun finished last season with 63 total tackles, 1.5 of those tackles were for losses, and 3 interceptions. He is expected to be one of the leaders in the defensive secondary and generate recruiting interest for him.
Jackson Angelastro, 6’3″ 230 (No. 42 DL, No. 327 Overall), Rolesville HS. Jackson is expected to step up his performance on the field during the upcoming season. He displayed good technique and use of hands to control blockers while moving past them for stops. Jackson is expected to be one of the leaders on the defensive line and generate recruiting interest for him.
Pierce Johnston, 6’1″ 215 (No. 33 LB, No. 294 Overall), Cardinal Gibbons HS. Pierce displayed good technique and good lateral movement while closing quickly on the ball carrier for stops. He is a dominant player in the second level of defense on the defensive unit. Pierce finished last season with 47 total tackles, 8.5 of those tackles were for losses. Pierce’s performance on the field will generate a lot of recruiting interest for him.
Luke Dale, 6’1″ 205 (No. 29 LB, No. 280 Overall), CE Jordan HS. Luke is fully recovered from an injury and is expected to play at a high level during the upcoming season. He is expected to lead the second level of defense for the defensive unit. Luke’s performance on the field will generate recruiting interest for him.
Ishaun Abdul-Ali, 6’3″ 230 (No. 9 DL, No. 35 Overall), Mallard Creek HS. Ishaun is quick out of his stance to make contact with blockers and good use of hands to control them for stops. He uses his quickness to move past blockers into the backfield for stops for losses. Ishaun will be one of the leaders on the defensive line and generate recruiting interest for him. He will be a dominant player on the defensive unit during the upcoming season.
