Some now have offers and some have committed. Today we have kids from all different regions of the state: Northeast Ohio, Central Ohio, Southwest Ohio. It just goes to show how football talent rich the state of Ohio really is. I won’t keep you any longer here are more new additions to the 2023 rankings.
Winton Woods has a bevy of talent returning from its 2021 State Championship team. KC Spears KC Spears 5'10" | 180 lbs | WR Winton Woods | 2023 State OH is a big part of that talented core. I had the opportunity to see KC at the Cincinnati camp and he did not disappoint. He got open on the regular and converted with catches. Purdue offered him this spring and he’s since picked up some D2 and FCS interests since. I will be interested to see where this young man ends up as I’m a big believer in his talent.
Cole Rhett Cole Rhett 6'6" | 290 lbs | OL Bishop Watterson | 2023 State OH is another young man I saw on my camp tour this summer. This time I was at the Toledo Rockets football camp. At 6’6 290, Cole, has a great frame and good feet to match. The Bishop Watterson product was lining up at guard as he was being coached up by the Toledo camp staff. He offers plus length and athleticism on the interior line. This spring Rhett committed to the University of Toledo. He’s since picked up his first P5 offer from Iowa State University.
In 2021 Hilliard Darby went 8-4 and was a couple of scores away from 10-2. One of the leaders of that team was linebacker Ben Marsh Ben Marsh 6'3" | 225 lbs | LB Hilliard Darby | 2023 State OH . I see Marsh as an outside linebacker that could possibly grow into a defensive end. He has a good combo of size (6’3 225) and athleticism. He’s able to drop and cover in space and has the athleticism to come off the edge and disrupt. Marsh has had MAC interests. He committed to Ball State this offseason.
Glenville rarely has a shortage of skill talent, and the 2022 season will be no different. With all of that talent, Malique Herron, is a young man who I really feel is flying under the radar. Herron is an athletic receiver who has legit track speed. He’s sudden in and out of his breaks. With his speed and suddenness, he does a great job of getting separation. I think a strong senior campaign could really build some momentum in his recruitment.
Wayne High School in another school that continually puts out college football players. RJ Mukes RJ Mukes 5'11" | 170 lbs | WR Wayne | 2023 State OH is young man that I’ve known since he was a freshman. He’s the son of Wayne head coach Rosey Mukes. You can see in the way RJ attacks the game that he’s a coach’s son. Since I first watched him, he’s always been a polished route runner. In terms of size and athleticism Mukes profiles to the slot position. This summer RJ accepted an offer to play football at Ball State University.
Tight End Conner Cravaack Conner Cravaack 6'5" | 230 lbs | TE Madeira | 2023 State OH really came on in his junior season. The 6’5 230 pounder is a wide receiver that I think will be able to be used both inline and split out. He has the frame and strength to be a plus blocker, but he has athleticism to be used out wide. Cravaack has had a good deal of division 1 FCS and FBS interest. He committed to the Akron Zips this offseason. Zips coach Joe Moorehead will provide an offense that will give Cravaack room to grow as a tight end. I’m excited to see what the future holds.
