This is going to be a long series of new additions to our rankings to make sure that each young man is highlighted. That being said, there are P5 caliber recruits down to D3/JUCO recruits. The moral of the story, each of these young men did the work and deserved a spot in our rankings. We’re here to highlight their hard work. Without further ado, let’s take a look at Pt. 9 of our New Additions to the 23′ Rankings.
Mr. Latulippe is a cornerback that can go up for 50/50 balls to force pass breakups and can trigger downhill quickly to secure open-field tackles in the flat. What stands out the most about this young man is his closing speed which he uses to not only close quickly on the ball carrier but secure chasedown tackles. When he does so, he uses his pursuit angles to bring the ball carrier down after he breaks a long run saving touchdowns in the process. He also flashes his ability to jump routes for interceptions too and has potential on the offensive side of the ball. Twitter
Highlights
Mr. Tirado is an outside linebacker that can fly downfield on kickoff to deliver a heavy hit on the return man. This young man can generate pressure off the edge in his speed rush. He does so by using his quick first step to gain the advantage against the offensive tackle before he closes to secure the sack on the play. In run support, he can scrape off the edge coming flat down the line of scrimmage to secure the tackle for minimal gain and can flow to the ball well. Twitter
Mr. Kim is a safety that can get to his deep third drop quickly and can then track the ball to secure the interception. This young man isn’t afraid to go up for 50/50 balls to contest the catch and has some foot quicks to him. What stands out about this young man is his ability to get involved in both the pass and run defense. In run support, he plays the alley well by triggering downhill to secure tackles on the perimeter. Twitter
Mr. Christensen is a safety that has the ability to close on the receiver quickly after he transitions and isn’t afraid to jump routes for pass breakups. Furthering this, in the first clip in his highlights he jumps the seam route to secure the interception showcasing his ability to play the ball over the man. When he’s lined up as a single high safety, he can transition well from one hash line to the other. He then takes a good break on the ball to make a play when at first the seam looked open. In run support, this young man can line up in the box to meet the ball carrier at the line of scrimmage for no gain. He also has potential as a return man.
Mr. Drapeau is a safety that can turn his head and flip his hips putting himself in a position to secure interceptions. When he’s working as a two-high safety, he can take pursuit angles to secure open field tackles. He does so by triggering downhill in run support showcasing his closing ability. This young man isn’t afraid to get involved in run support, so much so he gets involved in goal line situations to stuff the run. Twitter
