Pickens recorded 190 tackles last season and is one of the better linebackers in the state. With size, speed, and a prototypical mentality Pickens is a dynamic game changer. He shows tremendous burst, closing speed, and aggression when getting downhill – making him an elite run stopper and delayed blitzer. Pickens also shows great speed when flowing sideline to sideline and stopping perimeter plays. Look for Pickens to replicate this production and catch more eyes as the season progresses.
Jacob Langlois
Jacob Langlois
Langlois is An ultra-productive mike linebacker that’s fundamentally sound and skilled. As a three-down linebacker, he’s excellent at reading, reacting,n and getting downhill with limited false steps. In the passing game, Langlois shows great instinct in coverage and is a disruptor. With solid hands for a linebacker and an IQ to play quicker than his listed speed, Langlois can patrol the middle of the field and make plays on the ball. In space, he’s a fundamentally sound tackler that hits above his size and constantly shows determination at the point of attack. Look for Langlois to be one the best backers in his region, the leader of the Priceville defense.
Underwood is a strong outside linebacker that can hold down the run and get after the passer. He is extremely physical when engaging with blockers and plays bigger than his size when engaging with blockers. His constant effort when fighting off blocks and getting free makes allows him to be around the ball and make plays constantly. Underwood is also fundamentally sound when breaking down and making open field tackles. In addition, he shows excellent discipline when setting the edge and always has his outside shoulder free to turn ball carriers back inside and make plays on the ball. Lastly, he shows versatility with his ability to put his hands in the dirt or play off the line of scrimmage; this broad skill set has earned him offers from Troy and South Alabama and should propel him to many more.
