Without a doubt, the most highly-touted 2023 player not yet committed to a school is Jalen Thompson Jalen Thompson 6’3″ | 245 lbs | DL Cass Tech | 2023 State MI out of Cass Tech. Over the past few months, Thompson has been busy not only working, but visiting many Power-5 programs fighting for his attention. The one school that keeps being brought up is Michigan State, in which he recently retweeted a Tweet from “1OF1” alluding toward him committing to the Spartans. Jalen Thompson Jalen Thompson 6’3″ | 245 lbs | DL Cass Tech | 2023 State MI is set to commit on August 22.

One of the top DBs in the state, Javen Sewell Javen Sewell 5’9″ | 165 lbs | ATH Cass Technical | 2023 MI has yet to commit and hasn’t announced a commitment date. To this point, Sewell has been offered by Central Michigan, Eastern Kentucky, Ferris State, and others. Sewell has Power-5 potential, so my guess would be he’ll be betting on himself this season in hopes of getting a Power-5 offer. I’m extremely interested to see where Sewell ends up, knowing how hard he works and how well he’s performed this offseason.
A very busy man this offseason, Aaron Bradley Aaron Bradley 6’6″ | 275 lbs | OL Southfield A&T | 2023 State MI currently holds 15 offers from schools such as Minnesota, Purdue, UMass, GVSU, and others, but in a recent MLive article, he’s expressed hope that his performance during recent camps will give him a boost. I’m personally impressed by his offseason activity, and I think every athlete should take a page out of his social media game by Tweeting out their camp schedule!
A player that I admittedly know little about, Jameel Croft Jameel Croft 6’1″ | 165 lbs | DB Detroit King | 2023 State MI is an excellent DB out of Detroit King with a great amount of Power-5 offers. Facing top-talent year-after-year, perhaps he’s another athlete looking to prove himself further.

Conclusion
Plenty of top-tier athletes still wait for the right time and school to commit to. With the season right around the corner, it will be especially interesting to watch these athletes perform and even more interesting to hear the rumor mill about who might go where.
