Both the offensive and defensive lines are at times overlooked and they are perhaps the most important pieces of the team. We are going to look at 2025 defensive line prospects that have had strong summers and have the potential to continue that trend this fall.
Landon Canady Landon Canady 6'2" | 320 lbs | DL Little Rock Parkview | 2025 State AR -Little Rock Parkview-6’2” 320-Pounds
The Parkview defensive tackle is a powerhouse that can shutdown an opponent’s rushing attack and cause plenty of havoc with the opponent’s passing game. He does a great job of getting under the opposing offensive lineman’s pads and driving him back. Canady has the quickness to get into the backfield and pressure the quarterback. However, one area that I am impressed with is how he will not give up on a play. Canady will defeat blocks and will require a double team once the season starts up and he takes over Friday nights.
Nykkisson Wimberly Nykkisson Wimberly 6'1" | 255 lbs | DL Arkadelphia | 2025 State AR -Arkadelphia-6’1” 255-Pounds
Wimberly has had a tremendous summer and his camp performances were strong. He has the mix of power and speed to create plenty of headaches for the opposing offensive lines over the next few years. The versatility that Wimberly has is a valuable quality. He can play the edge rusher or kick inside and play the tackle position. Wimberly earned a scholarship offer over the summer and has the potential to rack up a few more over the next few months. Look out for Wimberly on Friday nights, he has the potential to play on Saturdays in the future.
Taylor Webster Taylor Webster 6'2" | DL Fort Smith Northside | 2025 State AR -Fort Smith Northside-6’2” 250-Pounds
Fort Smith Northside has built a reputation over the years in having a tough defense. The present and the future looks to be in good hands with Taylor Webster Taylor Webster 6'2" | DL Fort Smith Northside | 2025 State AR . Webster has tremendous explosiveness out of the snap. He uses his speed well to get into the offensive backfield. The speed that Webster plays with is impressive and he is a prospect to keep an eye on this season. I look for Webster to earn some playing time this season and, in the process, open up some eyes at the same time.
Danny Johnson Danny Johnson 6'1" | 280 lbs | DL Pine Bluff | 2025 State AR -Pine Bluff-6’0” 275-Pounds
The Pine Bluff defensive tackle can play the run and the pass with equal effectiveness. Where Johnson opens eyes is his ability as a pass rusher. He uses his speed and power to get into the backfield. Johnson is an explosive prospect, and he has the ability to cause nightmares for Pine Bluff opponents over the next few years. Johnson saw action last season playing for the Zebras and I look for him to earn plenty of playing time this season.
Jaxon Oliver Jaxon Oliver 6'3" | 310 lbs | DL Fayetteville | 2025 State AR -Fayetteville-6’3” 280-Pounds
Oliver impressed during the spring and summer workouts. He is a defensive lineman that can shut down the opposing running game if unaccounted for this season. Oliver has the quickness at the tackle position to defeat blocks and rush the passer. He has the potential to be a mainstay on the Fayetteville defensive line over the next few years. Look for Oliver to earn playing time this season for the Bulldogs as they look to get back to Little Rock for the state championship game.
