Continue ReadingIt is the last weekend of camp. Players have been working all summer to make sure they are prepared for these type of camps. Some are coming to make a name for themselves and some are coming anticipating on leaving with offers. There was some great competition going on on the Hail State Campus yesterday. Here is some guys I kept my eyes on.
Preston Ashley Preston Ashley 5'11" | 160 lbs | DB Brandon | 2026 State MS , 5-11 160, DB, Brandon, 2026
Preston has been buzzing around the state a long time. He is a 2026 guy that is already playing with a lot of maturity. He was on campus showing off his great ability and left with an offer. Coaches were very impressed with this young man and wanted to put their bid in early. Preston was on point again yesterday. He is very polished to be his age and credits his dad on helping to improve his technique. The young man is just so smooth in his back pedal. He breaks to the football very well. When he reaches in to break up a pass he does it with control and grace. He definitely deserved to leave with an offer.
Kobe Williams Kobe Williams 6'6" | 300 lbs | OL Amory | 2024 State MS , 6-6 300, OL, Amory, 2024
Kobe was back on the grind in Starkville yesterday. He has been working hard this summer. Yesterday he was at it putting some of that new knowledge to use. Williams has gotten a lot better with his punch. This past Saturday he was pretty solid in the 1v1 challenges. He had a great summer. Look for him to have a good season this year.
Hayden Dozier Hayden Dozier 6'3" | 295 lbs | OL Amory Mississippi | 2023 State MS , 6-2.5 285, OL, Amory, 2023
Hayden is one of those big guys who loves the contact. He loves the grind. He loves going against good competition. He’s getting more polished as these summer workouts come to an end. He has seen himself gain a bigger name for himself during this summer’s camp circuit. His footwork has gotten better. He moves around a lot better and he has gotten in better shape. Hayden is ready to attack this year with full force.
