However, now is the time to take a look at a few guys that we haven’t had the chance to shine the spotlight on just yet. The prospects we examine in this article are going to be guys you will want to pay attention to this season. Much like our recruiting articles this one will become part of the weekly rotation.
Logan Taylor Logan Taylor 6'0" | 220 lbs | DL Greenwood | 2023 State AR -Defensive Line-Greenwood-2023
The Greenwood Bulldogs are a talented football team on both sides of the ball. Taylor does a good job of using his strength and speed combination. He is able to dip his shoulder and force the opposing offensive lineman into the offensive backfield. Taylor does a good job of rushing the passer and disrupting the rhythm of the opposing quarterback. What will stick out is this young man does not quit on a play and he is always around the ball carrier. Taylor is a prospect that will open eyes this season.
Peyton Tatum-Quarterback-Booneville-2023
Booneville always has a quarterback that can run the flexbone in impressive fashion and this season will not be any different. Tatum makes good decisions with the football and knows when to pitch it. Meanwhile, when it is time to throw the ball, Tatum does have an accurate arm and can connect with his receivers. Tatum does have good speed and is a shifty runner that is tough to bring down. He is a prospect to watch out for this season, he has the potential for a big season with the Bearcats.
Lane Lay-Linebacker-Stuttgart-2026
The Ricebirds always have talented prospects on the defensive side of the ball and Lane Lay is another one coming up through the ranks. Lay does an impressive job in pass coverage and does a great job of reading the opposing quarterback’s eyes. He does a good job of fending off of blocks and being able to get into the offensive backfield. Lay is going to be a linebacker to watch out for over the next couple of years. He is already off to good start, and I expect him to explode from a recruiting perspective over the next few months.
Eli Weaver Eli Weaver 6'1" | 175 lbs | LB Greenbrier | 2024 State AR -Linebacker-Greenbrier-2024
Weaver had a tremendous 2021 football season. The Panthers are able to line Weaver up all over the field on the defensive side of the ball and he executes at every alignment. Weaver makes plays all over the field. He does a great job of making plays on the ball and has the athletic ability to pick off a pass and take it the other direction. Weaver is one linebacker that has the talent to take a game over on the defensive side of the ball. Keep your eyes open for the Greenbrier linebacker he is a talented prospect to watch.
Adrien Falcon-Offensive Line-Fort Smith Northside-2023
Falcon is an offensive lineman to watch out for this season. He earned all-conference honors a season ago and is looking to accomplish the same this season. Falcon gets into the opposing defensive lineman quickly and he shows good speed in the process. He plays with a chip on his shoulder, and he loves to finish his blocks. Keep an eye on Falcon this season as he anchors the Fort Smith Northside offensive line.
