The 2022 regular season will be here before we know it.

But before we get there, a number of scrimmages will be worth some of your preseason time. In each of these mock games, one if not both teams already have one scrimmage under their belt. So we should see the continued development of potential stars in the making, or - at worst - some previously known big names put on a show.

FRIDAY, AUGUST 5

Cane Bay at South Florence - Cane Bay has a top-75 overall player in linebacker [player_tooltip player_id='146380' first='Cameron' last='Avery'], and the chance to see him doing his thing against [player_tooltip player_id='146356' first='LaNorris' last='Sellers'] and the rest of this fast-paced Bruins' offense could be something.

MONDAY, AUGUST 8

West Florence at Dillon - West Florence will get a still test, and that's exactly what coach Jody Jenerette wants for his linebacking crew of [player_tooltip player_id='208334' first='Kelvin' last='Hunter'], Nahson Frison, Franklin Emerson and Da'Shun Scott.

Conway at Wilson - Receivers will be all over the field in this one, as Wilson's [player_tooltip player_id='336114' first='Zandae' last='Butler'], [player_tooltip player_id='139297' first='Jyron' last='Waiters'] and [player_tooltip player_id='146368' first='Donnell' last='Williamson'] will be countered by Conway's Aiden Brantley, Chris Quick and [player_tooltip player_id='997250' first='Derek' last='Grant'].

Wando at Myrtle Beach - After the Seahawks lost to Loris in their first scrimmage, we'll get to see what type of adjustments the offense and incoming quarterback Tre Dunn and returner Wyatt Cannon can make.

Waccamaw at Socastee - The Warriors have one of the biggest quarterbacks in their region in 6-foot-2, 190-pound Jaret Yonker, as well as one of the biggest offensive linemen, all 6-foot-4, 300 pounds of Jackson Mattox, protecting him. Playing a Class 5A opponent here will only help two of Waccamaw's better offensive threats get better.

Hartsville at Ridge View - Another Pee Dee squad will head to the Midlands on Monday, and a Hartsville offense led by tailbacks [player_tooltip player_id='208339' first='Carmello' last='McDaniel'] and [player_tooltip player_id='202738' first='J'Shawn' last='Anderson'] and quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='208342' first='McKendrie' last='Douglas'] will go up against a Ridge View team that just got pulled down from Class 5A after two pretty successful seasons.

FRIDAY, AUGUST 12

CNB Kickoff Classic (CCU's Brooks Stadium) - The annual 10-team scrimmage will highlight each of Horry County's nine programs and nearby Waccamaw. (More specifics on this event Tuesday morning.)

West Florence at Brookland-Cayce - While this one will be played in the Midlands, it features an interesting quarterback dual between B-C's [player_tooltip player_id='199432' first='Tanner' last='Staton'] and West's [player_tooltip player_id='336138' first='Deuce' last='Hudson']. These two combined for 4,100 total yards and 26 touchdowns last season.
