There are some guys that aren’t on the radar yet who could have a major season this year. The guys who took the time to make a name for themselves on the recruiting circuit are set to gain a lot of attention and offers. Those guys are already one step ahead.
Jarkea Reed, 6-0 160, ATH, Leake Central, 2023
Jarkea played a lot of different positions for Leake Central last season. There have been some tough times on the gridiron for the fans around Leake Co. Those times may come to a halt for a while. It is some good talent there and they have some new coaches who know the game. It wouldn’t surprise me to see Jarkea capitalize from that and have a very big season. He is very fast and can disappear whenever he wants. That 4.43 speed he has helps him have the advantage on any corner he faces. When he runs the QB read he can go for 60 yards with ease. He is liable to go to the house on a screen play at any given time. Reed is very dangerous and he received his first offer last month. He is going to truly breakout this year.
Andrew Maddox Andrew Maddox 6'5" | 280 lbs | DL Oak Grove | 2025 State MS , 6-5 290, DL, Oak Grove, 2025
Andrew came in and got some playing time last season for Oak Grove. This kid has so much potential. He has very great mechanics and already has multiple power 5 offers including, Alabama, Ole Miss and University of Texas. He didn’t have a big time stat season as a freshman, but that is very expected this season. He isn’t a big baby that is lazy. This kid moves around with some get up about himself. He clogs the middle with ease and even helps out in the pass defense with a mean threat for sacks. He is a guy who you picture dominating this season. There won’t be many people who can stand in front of him and make a good block.
Dequadrion Welch Dequadrion Welch 5'10" | 160 lbs | WR Noxubee County | 2024 State MS , 5-9 170, WR, Noxubee Co
DJ makes plays and has two more years to do so. He can open up the field in so many different ways for his team. He is a special team threat that can take kicks and punts for yards to the house. He is deadly on the screen play. DJ knows how to make things happen. He is one of those guys from Noxubee Co that is blessed with lots of talent. He is one of those smaller guys that plays with a lot of heart. He will shock the state this year with his stats.
Aden Dedeaux Aden Dedeaux 6'3" | 210 lbs | DL Poplarville | 2024 State MS , 6-3 220, OLB, Poplarville, 2024
Aden is a big long guy who gets after it when he is on the football field. He lays a very mean blow when he arrives. He can be an edge rusher or he can stand back and make plays covering in zone defense. He knows how to read, play his assignments and he even catches the ball when it comes his way. He is a player that will make a big name for himself this year. He has all the right tools to be a big time prospect. The ball is in his, well in this case, gridiron.
