Highlights
Cole is one of the premier dual threats in the state and is the most explosive playmaker in the 5A area. With a rocket for an arm, Cole consistently gets the ball down with precision, touch, and good ball placement. He can get it to receivers in stride or throw guys open and away from defenders. Mechanically he has a rapid-fire release and gets solid velocity on his throws. Cole is also adept at using his legs to buy team, create throwing, and deliver darts on the run. As a runner, Cole is an ultra-dynamic athlete with a quick twitch, burst, 4.5 speed, and a nose for the endzone. He does a great job of being deceptive with option plays and keeping defenders on their heels when they’re in pursuit. Look for Cole to add to his highlight reel through the fall and give his team a chance to win every week.
Highlights
As a freshman, Rogers dominated opponents every week and put his name in the conversation as one of the best in his position despite being one of the state’s best position groups. Rogers is a track star with pads on, which is evident by his average of 10 yards an attempt. With top-tier speed, he’s also twitchy and explosive out his cuts, making him nearly unguardable when he hits the open field with his jukes and jump cuts. He shows excellent lower body strength when driving through tackles and keeping his feet moving after contact. With this skill set, he’s one of the more versatile backs in the country. He can grind out yards between the tackle, be a monster on perimeter/space-oriented runs, or get downhill and burst through the second level. Besides his All-American skill as a traditional running back- Rogers showed talent in the slot and took the top off of defenses, further adding to his value as a complete offensive weapon.
Dozier is a perimeter playmaker with next-level size and skill. The Arkansas signee is a matchup nightmare and probably keeps opposing defenders up at night before facing him. With an expansive catch radius, he’s an elite 50/50 guy and RedZone threat who’s open even when he’s covered. He showed excellent hand strength and concentration when converting heavily contested catches and is always a solid option in clutch time situations. When the ball is in his hands, he shows solid wiggle for his size and can gain yardage after the catch if he can get in space. Look for Dozier to be a dominant force in the 5A region.
Though Robert isn’t a household name, he provided solid production in his junior campaign with over 800 yards and nine touchdowns on less than 40 catches. With a solid all-around skill set, Roberts shows excellent hand-eye coordination enabling him to adjust to the ball no matter where it’s at. In addition, he can win in man coverage with deception, fluid hips, and acceleration out his breaks – leaving his QB plenty of space to deleiver passes. This makes him a reliable option on the outside and a solid No.1 receiver in the area. Roberts also shows flashes of agility, elusiveness, and toughness when running after the catch and can do damage if he’s in the open field. As one of the more underrated guys, look for Roberts to have more production as his opportunities increase and be one of the best route runners in the state.
