Earl Woods III
As one of the more electrifying players in the state, Woods is a dual threat with elite speed and arm talent and can pick apart defenses. While tallying over 3000 yards in passing and 2000 yards rushing, he led his team to a championship appearance last season. The playmaking Quarterback shows elite arm strength when pushing the ball downfield and can maintain this accuracy when facing pressure in the pocket. Woods also dissected defenses in the intermediate game, with his ability to read and react off of RPOs and play action passes. As a runner, his twitchy athleticism enables him to maneuver in and out of the pocket and break down defenses with his legs. With superior elusiveness, Woods will always make the first guy miss and take advantage of hidden yardage from broken tackles. While maintaining his speed out his cuts, Woods can easily carry a team to victory with his legs. If Wood’s can replicate the production of his last season, expect the Power 5 schools to join the party and Hueytown to have another crack at the 6A championship.

However, on the outside, he uses his speed well when attacking DBS cushions, keeping them on their toes and creating explosive plays downfield. He also has a larger catch radius than his listed measurements due to his skill at adjusting to throws- making him one of the more dynamic receivers in the state.
