Without further notice, let’s take a look at some hidden gems around the city of San Antonio!
Luke Sasser: 5’10 165Ibs/WR/ SA Reagan High School
Analysis: Luke Sasser is a player that has not gotten a lot of recognition in the city of San Antonio, but he is not a player that should be slept on. Sasser has really soft and reliable hands, and does an excellent job adjusting to the ball. His route running skills are decent, but can still use some improvement. He has good speed as well, which allows him to be lethal on deep post routes or intermediate routes! Sasser has very good jump ball skills too, which let’s him catch contested balls in the end zone, or catch back shoulder passes over corners and safeties! Look for him in the future!
Michael Vasquez: 6’3 192Ibs/WR/ SA Clark High School
Analysis: Michael Vasquez is a sleeper player on this list that must not be overlooked. Vasquez has been a weapon for his team! This young prospect has the build of a division I wide receiver. He has really good speed, and does a superb job at getting open. His hands are some of the most reliable hands I have seen in the city of San Antonio. When it comes to contested catches, he prides himself on going up and making those tough grabs over a defender’s head. Vasquez is excellent at catching the ball with one hand as well, which makes him a threat in the red zone at any moment. On top of that, he is very athletic, hurdling over defenders at will! Look for him to improve going foward!
Evan Wilhelm: 6’2 250Ibs/ T,C/ SA Johnson High School
Analysis: Evan Wilhelm is a very physical offensive lineman. This young man is a player that you can rely on in the pass game and run game. He is a pancake machine on the gridiron! He possesses very good footwork, and has good speed for a lineman his size. When it comes to his motor, he does not stop blocking downfield on each play, and makes sure defenders are put down! Next, he has very good strength, and will only improve the more he trains and hits the weights! Look for him to have an excellent year!
Rene Riojas Jr: 6’0 196Ibs/ RB/ Warren High School
Analysis: Rene Riojas Jr is a back that has the potential to be great. Riojas is a physical back that possesses good ball carry vision and has a knack for finding the right hole. He has a solid build, but can improve on his speed in the open field. Next, he does a great job at trucking defenders, and does not go down easily. Even though the season has merely just started, I would not be surprised if he had an excellent season.
Dillon Coleman: 6’2 185Ibs/ WR/ SA Roosevelt High School
Analysis: Dillan Coleman is a player that is to be accounted for on every play. Coleman has been making a lot of plays so far in the season. Due to his long arms, and versatility, this young man can make tough catches in traffic, as well as throw the ball! In the open field, he has very great deceptive speed. He may not look like he is fast, but on the field, he makes defenders look like they are standing in place. Mr. Coleman has really soft hands, and has good route running skills. Finally, he makes sure to get off the press, and fight his way into getting open in order to gain yards or score touchdowns at will! Look for him to have a very good football season this year as well!
