Who are they?
Prep Redzone takes a look…
A tremendous athlete between Macon and Savannah, Adams is a dual-threat quarterback right now but will likely play defensive back at the next level. The next level being North Carolina as the dynamic athlete decommitted from East Carolina and made his commitment to the Tar Heels this past weekend. A speedy player who is electric with the ball in his hands, Adams can do anything asked of him on the football field. He can run the ball, catch the ball, and turn around and cover the opposing team’s best defender. Offensively, the 5-foot-11 175-pounder has rushed 53 times this season for 439 yards and 8 touchdowns, averaging 8.3 yards per carry. Defensively, he’s made 16 tackles, one INT and three pass breakups. He’s one of the best overall athletes in the area and now he’s headed to Chapel Hill.
Alijah Lacey – New Hampstead
A tough EDGE defender with length and athleticism, the Savannah native committed to Georgia Southern this week, giving the Eagles more size and quickness on the defensive line. As a defender, Lacey is quick off the snap and has a lengthy frame at 6-foot-5 210-pounds. He can swat the ball away at the line of scrimmage if he doesn’t get to the quarterback, but he knows how to get pressure as well. He knows how to deliver a hit, he’s tough against the run, and he certainly had D1-level talent. He’s a promising prospect and has his best football still ahead of him. He’s one of the top under the radar defenders in Savannah, and he’s staying close to home to play in Statesboro for an impressive Georgia Southern program.
Ethan Crite Ethan Crite 6'2" | 180 lbs | WR Roswell | 2023 State GA – Roswell
One of the top wide receivers in the North Fulton area, the Roswell Hornet receiver committed to Middle Tennessee State this week, giving the Blue Raiders a big, physical wideout with strong hands. At 6-foot-2 180-pounds, Crite is a big-play waiting to happen and can pick up big yards every time he touches the football. As a junior last season, Crite caught just 20 passes but he went for 435 yards for an average of 21.8 yards per catch. He also found the endzone six times last season. As a senior this fall, Crite has only seven receptions, but like last year, he makes each one of them count. On his seven catches this year, Crite has 162 yards and one touchdown. In the end, Crite chose Middle Tennessee State over Army, Air Force, Brown, among others. Look for him to catch more and more passes as his senior year move along.
One of the toughest and most productive linebackers across Georgia, Oppenheimer is a tackling machine who recently committed to Army. This is an absolute steal for Army who adds a physical presence and a guy with impressive instincts. He’s a hard hitter, he’s excellent against the run, and knows how to light up the stat sheet. As a junior last year, Oppenheimer tackled everything in sight, making 153 total stops and 15 TFLs. He lived in the backfield and was one of the surest tacklers you’ll find in the area. He’s a true linebacker who can be the leader of the defense, and he has a very bright future ahead of him at West Point. Look for him to be one of the state’s leading tacklers again this year as a senior.
