Continue ReadingThe high school continues to wind on in the state of Arkansas. We are starting to see the teams as well as the players that have the potential to have a strong season this season. Every week is an opportunity to learn, and we are going to examine what we have learned from week four from high school football in the state of Arkansas. Let’s take a look at what we have learned this week.
West Memphis Blue Devils
The West Memphis Blue Devils are in the process of opening plenty of eyes across the Natural State over the past few weeks. West Memphis has won several close matchups, but they have also displayed the ability to blow some teams out as well. The Blue Devils turn the attention this week to Little Rock Catholic. Look for West Memphis to continue to mix the run and the pass and light up the scoreboard. Keep an eye on West Memphis, this has the potential to be a team that can make a playoff run in November.
Keland Mills Keland Mills 6'0" | 185 lbs | QB West Memphis | 2024 State AR -Quarterback-West Memphis-2024
The West Memphis signal caller has displayed impressive accuracy over the past few weeks. He has shown an ability to throw his receivers open and create big plays in the passing game. Mills is another quarterback in the class of 2024 that is opening eyes with his impressive play to start the season. Keep an eye on Mills the rest of the season, he is a prospect that I expect to have a big 2022 season.
Dylan Greer-Wide Receiver-West Memphis-2024
The Blue Devils do an excellent job of spreading the passes around to several talented wide receivers. Greer is a smooth route runner that can create separation using his route running ability. He is a wide receiver that has the speed to turn a short gain into an explosive one in the blink of an eye. Greer is having an impressive 2022 season and I look forward to seeing what him and the Blue Devils have in store for the rest of the season.
Pulaski Academy
The Bruins of Pulaski Academy just continue to churn out impressive performances year in-year out. An explosive offense and a talented defense make life incredibly difficult for the Bruins opponents. Pulaski Academy is off to a 4-0 start to the season. With conference play heating up this will be an interesting season for the Bruins with a matchup against Greenwood looming a little later in the season. The 6-A conference has the potential to be a great one to watch as playoff time looms closer.
Jaylin McKinney Jaylin McKinney 6'0" | 165 lbs | WR Pulaski Academy | 2023 State AR -Wide Receiver-Pulaski Academy-2023
Jaylin McKinney Jaylin McKinney 6'0" | 165 lbs | WR Pulaski Academy | 2023 State AR that continues to play at a high level and open plenty of eyes in the process. McKinney has had a tremendous season from a receiving perspective. He has the speed and the route running mix to cause plenty of headaches for opposing defensive backs. I look for him to continue his solid 2022 season and have a deep November playoff run to go along with it this season as well.
Kenny Jordan-Running Back-Pulaski Academy-2024
Jordan is having an impressive 2022 football season. He is averaging over 117 yards per game rushing this season and gives the Pulaski Academy opponent’s problems defending the run and the pass. Jordan is attracting attention from plenty of college scouts, and I look forward to seeing what he has in store for the rest of the season. Jordan has the speed and the vision to rack up the yardage over the next few weeks.
