Prescott is having one of it’s best seasons in school history, and they have all the potential to make it THE best season in school history if they can continue along the same trajectory. They are stacked across the board, and they are loaded with tons of speed. They have numerous athletes that hold big play ability with the ball in their hands and can be a threat to take it to the house any play. They’ve been a run heavy offense with the 1-2 punch with Cody Lepolod and Cian Mckelvey, as well as RB Maurea Norris breaking numerous long runs for six. WR Jake Hilton Jake Hilton 6'5" | 190 lbs | WR Prescott | 2023 State AZ is a flat out mismatch given his speed, ball skills, catch radius and length within his 6’4″ 185lb frame. Defensively, they are loaded with fly around players with Leopold, Mckelvey, Levi VanDyke Levi VanDyke 5'10" | 150 lbs | ATH Prescott | 2023 State AZ , Uriah Tenette, and Jake Wright. Landen Francis Landen Francis 6'2" | 225 lbs | LB Prescott | 2023 State AZ has also been an absolute beast on both sides of the ball at OL and LB and possesses great athleticism within his 6’2″ 225lb frame with solid play strength. Prescott’s defense is key in this one. Offensively, I think they’ll be fine, but they’re going to have to figure out how to contain Damante and Phelps. Prescott’s secondary will have thir biggest challange of the year, and they’ll go head up against one of the best QB-WR duos in the state.

ALA-Gilbert North
ALA-GN has been a constant powerhouse at the 3A level in previous years. After having so much success, they bumped up to 4A here in 2022 and are already sitting at the top of the ranks in 4A. They start off 2-1 with their loss coming against Eastmark in OT, which was a very surprising upset. Needless to say, that looked to light a fire under them as they came out and hung up 55 points on Westwood last week to beat them 55-24. They’re similar to Prescott in terms of speed and number of players who can make big plays any time, but the two biggest standouts that are proven game changers are QB Adam Damante Adam Damante 6'1" | 175 lbs | QB American Leadership Academy (Gilbert North) | 2023 State AZ and WR Brandon Phelps Brandon Phelps 6'3" | 195 lbs | WR American Leadership Academy - Gilbert North | 2024 State AZ . Damante is committed to Northern Arizona and is one of the most lethal dual-threat QB’s in the state. Excellent speed and COD when he takes off, frequently making madden type of plays in real life. Phelps is a 6’3″ 190lb WR with multiple P5 offers that is a mismatch nightmare for any defense playing man. Similar above, I think ALA-GN’s defense is what will have to show up to win this game. Offensively, nobody has really been able to slow down Damante. Both teams are super explosive offensively as this game holds definite shootout potential, and whichever defense can force more turnovers will be crucial in this one.
