Continue ReadingI pounded the table for everything that young man has accomplished thus far. He has yet to hit his ceiling from an interest standpoint. Every time Central Bucks East takes the field, Ethan Shine Ethan Shine 5’10” | 215 lbs | RB Central Bucks East | 2023 State PA might bust a run 80+ yards to the house. I’ve written relentlessly about this kid’s two-way ability, his most recent tape saw him erupt for 12 tackles, 1 TFL & 266 yards on the ground with four scores to boot. One of my favorite players to watch.
A shame we didn’t get a chance to speak on Marcus Quaker Marcus Quaker 5’11” | 170 lbs | QB West Perry | 2024 State PA ‘s elite seven-score performance two weeks ago. It’s a shame we haven’t written on anything Marcus Quaker Marcus Quaker 5’11” | 170 lbs | QB West Perry | 2024 State PA has done this year in all honesty. Quaker dominated our camp this past Spring, putting him squarely in our sites. He hasn’t disappointed, scoring 11 touchdowns in just three games this year. His rank was already solid for a debuting prospect, said rank is going to skyrocket if he continues to tear through defenses this way.

I am really liking what Jackson Landis Jackson Landis 6’1″ | 185 lbs | QB Hempfield | 2024 State PA is doing thus far behind center for Hempfield. I’m seeing quality reps from each game tape, even last week despite the team picking up its first loss of the year. Take what Landis did against William Penn in week two for example.
12/18 passing, 175 air yards, 68 rushing yards, and four total touchdowns.
Landis proved to have some clutch in his game too, coming up big with a deep ball in this one to take the lead with 12 seconds remaining. His confidence is growing.
Graham Hancox Graham Hancox 6’4″ | 225 lbs | QB Seneca Valley | 2023 State PA ‘s three-game tape is as good as anyone’s in the state right now. The sole reason for his modest rank in the 300s is because of his injury last Fall. Hancox is absolutely blowing this ranking away right now. Hancox is locating his deep balls well, hitting timing routes against zone coverage well, all the while staying poised and in control in the pocket. This kid looks like he’s on a mission, I hope he proves any doubters wrong.

Here are Smetanka’s lines from his first three games of the season.
- t
- 156 passing yards, 25 rushing, 1 score
- 313 passing yards, 22/35 passing
- 120 passing yards, 2 scores.
Solid production from the former Prospect Tour camper. Smetanka found open targets on the last two reps of his most recent tape, showing he can test a defense vertically. What I like most was his accuracy and timing in the short to intermediate game. Smetanka doesn’t have to beat you with a flashy skillset, he can do so with rhythm and accuracy. I hope he keeps this level of play up.

Yes, it’s been a rough two weeks for LaSalle, yet this team is too talented and well-coached to expect this losing skid to continue. I’m still checking in on junior linemen Lukas Donahue Lukas Donahue 6’3″ | 300 lbs | OL La Salle College | 2024 State PA , who is currently holding down the left tackle spot for the Explorers and doing a solid job of it as well. His three-game tape actually shows something that I don’t see often, especially out of junior linemen. I think Donahue might be further along in pass-pro sets than he is in run-blocking, which is hard to come by these days. Donahue is still getting the job done when pulling and coming off the ball, but I am intrigued by his development as a pass protector. I hope he and the Explorers can turn things around fast.

I haven’t had a chance to dig for Michael Hershey’s most recent tape, yet his first two games saw him register four sacks. That’s one hell of a way to start the year. Big #71 sticks out like a sour thumb on the field, and I mean that in the best of ways. His size and power combination is proving to be too much for both tackles and guards in the interior. So many reps in these two games will end up on his end-of-the-season tape. There is no deeper position amongst 2024s than defensive line. Even still, Hershey might still climb our ranks if he keeps this up.

I still remember Ethan Kryman Ethan Kryman ATH Daniel Boone | 2024 State PA first catching my eye thanks to a Daniel Boone teammate. We ranked him modestly, more of a wait-and-see ranking. Next, Kryman came to our camp and turned some heads, including mine, taking home top performer honors at running back. Fast forward to the start of the season and Kryman is proving his updated ranking to be true. This past weekend, Ethan Kryman Ethan Kryman ATH Daniel Boone | 2024 State PA ran through the Muhlenberg defense with ease, scorching the turf for 170 yards on the ground and three touchdowns. Consider me excited to see more.
The only underclassmen on this list, already making an impact is 6’2 DB Saxton Suchanic Saxton Suchanic 6’3″ | 185 lbs | DB Central York | 2025 State PA , a young man who impressed all coaches at our Spring Showcase. Time and time again, underclassmen drop once we dig up more data on kids across the state. I don’t expect Suchanic’s rank to drop after the season, especially if he consistently plays at this level. Suchanic’s play and rep share shows there is real trust amongst the coaching staff to have him playing corner this early into his high school career. This kid has all the tools to be special.
