With that being said, we’re going to be taking a look at new names on the horizon based on film that I was either send via DM or tagged on Twitter. The mission has always been the same, being a resource to these high school athletes and covering as many young men as possible no matter the college-level projection (D1, D2, NAIA, D3, JUCO). With that being said, let’s take a look at part three of my names on the horizon.

Mr. Fichter was listed on the watchlist coming into this fall season and with his performance so far he could see himself cracking into the rankings once this season is over. What stands out the most about this young man is his ability to get through the hole quickly and use his jump cuts to gain a step on 2nd-level defenders. You can see throughout his highlights below that he flashes his vision to find running lanes using his jump cuts to him them and stay ahead of the sticks. He can also be used in the air attack coming out of the backfield as well, I’m interested to see more film of him doing just that as he has potential in this area yet to come to light. Currently holds no offers but does run a 4.6 40. Twitter

Mr. McCarey is one of a few up-and-coming New Trier players that they have in their program. Each season, he continues to make his mark and showcase why he’s a top player in the class of 24′ here in Illinois. On both sides of the ball this young man can make his impact. On offense, he has foot quicks to get through the hole quickly after he uses his vision to find the running lane. What stands out the most about this young man on offense isn’t the playmaking abilities that he has, it’s actually his ability to make blocks in pass protection to keep the pocket clean for his quarterback. There’s a clip in his highlights where he does just that and it results in his QB throwing a bomb for a TD. Switching over to defense, this young man can secure open-field tackles and isn’t afraid to contest deep shots downfield. When doing so, he can either come away with the interception or pass breakup. For the rest of this fall season be sure to keep a close eye on this young man as his playmaking abilities on both sides of the ball are impressive. Currently holds no offers. Twitter

rnComing into this season I had Mr. Ashiru as possibly being a breakout player this fall season. I not only got a chance to scout this young man in person this fall but I also analyzed his midseason highlights below and he is indeed making his mark. This young man is not only able to get it done in the air attack, he can get it done in the ground game to position himself as a top dual-threat QB in the State of Illinois. His ability to get the ball out quickly when he runs RPOs is one to keep an eye on and it’s so successful because of the threat his legs possess to opposing defenses. Mr. Ashiru has the arm strength to make all level throws both in platform and on the move. He can also use his foot quicks to outrun 2nd-level defenders to either break a long run to keep the chains moving or get into the endzone for six. All in all, this dual-threat quarterback has been on FIRE each week this season leading Plainfield North to a 5-0 record so far. If I were a college coach, I would be keeping a very close eye on this young man as he’s proving why he can be a difference maker at the next level. Twitter

Mr. Abihudi works as an offensive tackle that makes his presence known when run blocking. What stands out the most in this area is how he’s able to sustain his blocks once he’s latched on. When doing so in the clips below, he keeps his feet driving through the whistle before putting the defender into the dirt. What’s equally as impressive is his impact on the defensive side of the ball working as a 1 tech. On defense, he can throw the center/guard to the side at the snap by using a strong punch to jolt them upright before securing the tackle either in the backfield for a loss on the play or at the line of scrimmage for no gain on the play. For the rest of this fall season, keep a close eye on this young man as his aggressiveness on both sides of the ball is impactful. Twitter

What I love about what we do here at Prep Redzone is being able to cover young men that previously weren’t on my radar and each season there’s always a handful of young men that come onto it. The story is the same with Mr. Leibrandt who is putting on an impressive performance so far this season. When you turn on his film below, you can see how deadly his foot quicks can be getting in/out of the hole quickly and being able to gain a step on 2nd level defenders. This is also seen when he runs a swing route as a halfback screen and once he secures the catch he’s able to hit the alley his receiver’s set for him while they stalk block. This leaves this young man one on one versus either the safety or outside linebacker where he flashes his ability to make the defender miss in open space. Pairing this young man with Standout Josh Holst Josh Holst 6’4″ | 180 lbs | QB Marengo | 2023 State IL , there’s no wonder why Marengo is a top team to beat. Currently, this young man holds a handful of offers and I wouldn’t be surprised if that list expands once this fall season is completed. Twitter
Mr. May has been on my radar for some time now and continues to improve each season. The Boilermakers get the ball into this young man’s hands in a variety of ways. He can line up in the slot, on the outside, at halfback, and can even run jet sweeps. That’s not including him being utilized in the return game either. What stands out the most about this young man is his foot quicks that he uses to outrun 2nd-level defenders one the ball is in his hands. There’s a clip in his highlights where he secures the jet sweep and is able to turn the corner before breaking a long run for six. This was also seen in the air attack where once he secures the catch he can get vertical for six. This isn’t including the impact he brings to the defensive side of the ball working as a cornerback. Here, he can stay on the receiver’s hip pocket on deep shot downfield and go up for 50/50 balls forcing pass breakups. All in all, this young man has been having one heck of a season so far for the Boilermakers and I’m looking forward to seeing how he produces the rest of this fall season. Most recently he picked up an offer from Bemidji State University last week. Twitter
