OL Brad Cavenaugh – 6’2″ 250 / Hebron HS
A true technician that never takes a play off, Cavenaugh is a workhorse that smaller programs should take a hard look at. He’s a bit undersized, but flashes some good things on tape that make him indispensable as an interior run blocker. An all-district selection a season ago, he wins with quickness and upper body strength. Excels as a puller in the run game.
Currently has no offers.
TE Preston Gaut Jr. – 6’4″ 245 / Grand Prairie HS
Gaut is a throwback H-Back who has the potential to be a punishing lead blocker at the next level. He keeps his pads low and drives defenders backwards in the run game, and as a pass catcher, provides a nice checkdown option in the flat. Will fit very nicely into a West Coast system that emphasizes the run game and the play action pass.
Currently receiving strong Division 2 interest.
QB Kylale Flye – 6’0″ 195 / Irving MacArthur HS
There’s a lot to like about Flye’s game, especially athletically. He can turn a play from nothing to something in an instant, due to his explosive speed, great vision, and nose for the end zone. Through four games, has led the Cardinals to a 3-1 record, and there’s no signs of letting up. He’s going to find a college home with a smaller program as an athlete, since he’s such a dangerous runner.
Currently has no offers.
TE Alijah Jones Alijah Jones 6'2" | 210 lbs | TE Hightower | 2023 State TX – 6’2″ 205 / Fort Bend Hightower HS
A relentless run blocker, Jones is the guy you want to have paving the way for your tailback in the ground game. He can play with his hand in the dirt, offset as an H-Back, or standing up in the slot. Snap-to-whistle player every program needs in their locker room. The versatility he offers is what will make him an intriguing option for a smaller program.
Currently has an offer from Louisiana Christian University.
OT Jacoby Burns – 6’3″ 295 / Nimitz HS (Class of ’24)
The lone junior on this list, Burns starts at right tackle for the Cougars. He has a chance to become a notable statewide recruit next season, once he develops a little more aggressiveness off the line and gets a little more nimble. What he brings is a tenacity to the ground game that is truly special to watch, and that tough, blue collar grit that we all love to see in an offensive line prospect. Very excited to see the youngster continue to improve. Can become dominant. Projects as a guard at the next level.
