These young men hail from all around the country and are either juniors or seniors at their respective schools. As a whole, they haven’t received a ton of attention just yet, but that could change quickly. These young men are off to a hot start in 2022, and if they keep it up, I think they should see an uptick in their recruitment very soon. With all that being said, here’s who you need to know!
Austin Alexander, 6’1″ 165, Marian Catholic, IL, JR
- Smooth working from his pedal.
- A flexible gate allows him to open his hips and go get the football.
- Quickness makes him tough to block on the perimeter.
- Versatility allows for him to play corner or safety.
Emmett Jacobson, 6′ 160, Point Loma, CA, SR
- Midpoints smash concepts in cover two.
- Shows sticky hands through contested catches.
- Easily overlaps in zone coverage and can provide help guarding the number two receiver on 4 verticals.
- Leans on the receiver in zone to widen his release.
Travis Anderson, 5’10” 165, Mission Viejo, CA, JR
- Explodes out of his breaks and covers a ton of ground.
- Range and concentration lead to plenty of interceptions.
- Midpoints two vertical threats up the seam in cover two.
- Has experience playing inside the box and shows no hesitation.
A’Terrius Johnson, 5’10” 150, Bishop Dunne, TX, SR
- Smooth transitioning into a lateral run.
- Doesn’t take the bait on double moves and will stay over the top.
- Has the speed to run stride for stride with quicker wideouts.
- Extremely competitive and will make receivers fight for every ball.
Caden High, 5’10” 165, Grayson, GA, SR
- Attacks the football at its highest point.
- Dynamic as both a wide receiver and kick returner.
- Plays with an aggressive downhill tackling style.
- Has outstanding closing speed to ensure he catches up to open targets.
Kadiyon Sweat, 6′ 185, Lehi, UT, SR
- A turnover machine at the safety position.
- Plays with great Instincts.
- Shows a tough, rugged tackling style when the ball is thrown out on the perimeter.
- Comes to balance and can make tackles out in space.
Kanyee Childress, 6′ 160, Chino Hills, CA, JR
- Willing to take calculated risks to make a play on the football.
- Eats up any routes that are short-intermediate.
- Reads passing concepts, triggers, and causes serious disruption.
- Can play man in the slot and stick to quicker wideouts.
