Week 1 (Prep) Live Action Report: BB&N vs Milton Academy( Part 2)
In this article:
Week 1 New England Prep School opening weekend took us to Milton, Ma on Saturday night, for a battle between two power programs BBN Knights and Milton Academy Mustangs. Both schools have an array of next-level talent and the game didn’t disappoint. In the end, the Mustangs survived the battle with a 31-14 win. The following players had a solid performance. This is part two of a two part series with each team top 5 performers and honorable mentions for the BB&N “Knights”.
Henry Machnik
Henry Machnik
Machnik athletic skills were on full display. He was a problem for the opponents defense all night trying to contain him. He does a real nice job selling the option and pulling. In open field he is tough to get a handle on. He can plant and cut away from defenders and he did so on most of his runs. He also has a very nice release and can put the ball on the money while running. He will likely see additional college interest after the season.
“Kacyvenski” is a versatile athlete. He was used as a WR/Slot on offense. He has speed and can see the field well. Showed patience to follow his blockers on jet sweep to get up field for more gains. On defense he was flying around making plays, and seen being physical in run support. A Harvard Commit and easily defined why he has D1 options at the next level.
Coming off a season where he saw varsity action as an 8th grader, the freshman showed he belonged once again. Lined up as WR he was a big target. He has good hands and will high top the ball if needed. He squares his shoulders while moving his feet when blocking on the perimeter. His rout running was crisp as he was able to get separation from his defender. He is a recruit who will see college interest increase after this season. 2021 HUDL below:
He is a recruit that definitely plays well on both sides of the ball. Used as a Tight-end he is a superb blocker, On defense he is an edge player that moves his feet quickly to get up field. He played what appeared the entire game and never showed taking any plays off. He is only a Junior, so he will have plenty of time to pick and choose his schools. He does have power 5 offers. Solid recruit. 2021 HUDL reel below:
Highlights
With the running lanes being plugged by the the opponents defense, “Maccormack” had a difficult time getting started in the run game. I did see him make a nice block on a 6’5″ DE that allowed the Jet sweep to hit. However, on defense he really stood out and did a nice job being physical. Playing corner, he was observed covering a top national prospect and he handled his role. He loves to be involved in the play and every play. Holds Umass early offer, and is a solid projected D1 recruit with multiple offers to come. 2021 Freshman Highlights below.
