Continue ReadingWe are nearing the end of the season, but the big performances are not slowing down! The stakes are getting higher as we have two games left for teams that haven’t clinched a playoff spot to do so. The athletes in this article did their jobs in an attempt to get their teams the precious conference victories that they need. This week is filled up with some impressive RB performances, and there are also a representative or two from the QB, WR, and OL group. Let’s get right into it so we can prepare for Week 8!
Stats: 11 Carries, 149 Yards, 1 TD, 1 Passing TD, 9 Tackles, 4 TFLs, 2 SacksrnThe junior RB has been one of my favorites to follow here at PRZ WI. He has been making plays for multiple seasons on the Edgar varsity, and he has only been getting bigger, faster, and stronger. The RB checks in at 5’10” and 210 lbs. Karter is essentially a bowling ball with the rock in his hands. He has a low center of gravity allowing him to absorb hits, and keep his feet churning. His power perfectly complements his frame. It’s not just power either. Butt has 4.62 40 speed, and has some wiggle when he finds himself in tight quarters. Karter clearly stands out form the crowd on a weekly basis. He is fun to watch, and I know we will have the chance to keep watching him at the next level.
Highlights
Stats: 8 Receptions, 137 Yards, 1 TDrnThe 5’11” 170 lbs senior had himself a week this past Friday. He has developed a solid base of WR skills that should garner him more attention than he has. Connor shown good concentration, and hand- eye coordination on his TD catch. He had to haul in the pass with the defender’s hands right there at the catch point as well. After the catch, Johnson was a slippery runner. He pulled away from multiple tackle attempts throughout the game, and was able to shake and juke himself into space to pick up yards after the catch. I was impressed by his catch radius shown when he had to go up and get a ball that was overthrown. Connor was explosive enough to go up and get it. Good showing by the senior this week.
Owen Carlson
Owen Carlson
Stats: 100 Yards, 2 TDsrnThis is my first time watching Owen, and I am confident saying that we have a potential diamond in the rough here. The junior needs the spotlight on him because he looks like he has next level talent and traits. Owen is a good sized back at 6′ 180 lbs. The frame has a solid amount of muscle, and room to add more. Carlson moves very well at 6′ tall. First of all, he has reported 4.5 speed that he uses to leave defenders in his wake and beat pursuit angles. Where I was even more impressed was with his lateral agility. Multiple times in his film Owen was able to stick his foot in the ground, and jump cut 90 degrees to the right or left, and then explode forward for yards. His frame, athleticism, and body control have me excited to see his season long stats. I can’t wait to see him develop over the next year.
Stats: 22/27, 303 Yards, 2 TDsrnI have been looking forward to seeing Seth on the varsity team, and he has impressed. The 6’5″ athlete is also a talented basketball player. The frame is great for both. They didn’t come away victorious, but this looked like Seth’s best game. He was decisive with this throws. He delivered accurate balls that were where they needed to be. The ball got out of his hands quickly when it needed to. Lastly, the big signal caller demonstrated touch on the short, underneath routes as well as power when he needed to get the ball there quickly. That ranking to the right of his name will definitely be climbing in the right direction after the season. There needs to be more eyes on him because the attention doesn’t seem to match the talent.

Stats: 20 Carries, 147 Yards, 3 TDs, 1 2 Pt. Conv.rnThe 510″ 170 lbs athlete was a regular last season in the top performers. So, I had to check back in after this performance. Colin looks much better than he did last season. The development has, and is taking place telling me that his best ball is still ahead of him. This week’s film most impressed me when watching his speed compared to the talent around him. O’Neil plays the game faster than everyone else on the field. His short area burst stands out even more after patiently waiting for his blocks to set up. Lastly, Colin plays bigger than he is. He will try to run right over defenders if needed. I’m glad to see he has earned a couple offers already. I wouldn’t be surprised to see more from that level follow.
Highlights
Stats: 22 Carries, 230 Yards, 3 TDsrnAnother junior on this list with plenty of varsity experience is the 6′ 180 lbs RB out of Menomonee Falls. Joseph attacks the lien of scrimmage when he gets the hand off. There is no hesitation to his game. He trust that the hole will be there, and has the necessary power to get himself through it if its not fully opened up. Koch is primarily a north- south runner who has the contact balance and body control to take the hits, and stay on his path. It was a battle to bring him down in every play of his highlights. When needed we did get to see some lateral movement, but power and aggressive downhill play is his go to. Great showing this week.
Stats: 175 Rushing Yards, 3 TDsrnEthan is about as compact as they come. He is 5’7″ but also carries 175 lbs giving him more sturdiness, and power than you would expect. I came away impressed by the RB’s vision with the ball in his hands. He always found his way to more green grass while always moving down the field. Mathe sees his block swell, and seems to know where the openings in the second level and secondary will be. The kid finishes his runs hard too. He is a huge part of the Winneconne offense on a weekly basis.

Brandon Dyer- Ysaguirre
Brandon Dyer- Ysaguirre
Stats: 18 Carries, 218 Yards, 3 TDsrnIt only took Brandon one half of football to put up these crazy numbers in Week 7. I was unaware of the RB until this week. The senior seems to have a good feel for where the open grass is. So many of his plays saw him weaving, juking, and running his way to huge gains before contact. He utilized his blocks well last week. Brandon is an upright runner out in space, but will lower his shoulder and run hard to gain the yards after contact. Take a peak at the film below. I’m interested in how he performs the rest of the season.
Stats: 4/9, 58 Yards, 1 TD, 14 Carries, 112 Yards, 4 TDsrnThe senior QB is an explosive athlete. The type of athlete who i believe can play at the next level in a spot outside of QB. Sal took over their Week 7 matchup with his legs. Homestead utilized him on read options with great success. Sal is a good decision maker, and he can get to his top gear very quickly. That top gear includes 4.5 40 speed. Balistrieri thrives out in space, and can do that at the next level. I’m confident that he can line up at many positions, and be a matchup problem for teams. Don’t let him slip under the radar.
Highlights
The 6’3″ 285 lbs senior OG has made a big jump in his performance this year. I’m most impressed with his ability to reach, pull, and get to the second level. Jonah has good body control, and range allowing him to open up lanes and make blocks out in space. Larson also has that next level strength needed to maul defensive linemen. Jonah is another small school prospect on this list who stands out from the crowd. The athletic big man also plays DL, and looked good there as well. He will be moving up the rankings if I had to predict. Check him out. He recently got his first D2 offer from Winona State.
