Torres is the best passer in the state and his ability to move in the pocket with a focus downfield has led to massive years from Ian Strong Ian Strong 6’4″ | 180 lbs | ATH St. Anthony’s | 2023 State NY and Korey Duff Jr. who are his top targets.

On a stacked Holy Trinity offense that has elite speed and notable names everywhere Jameer Reeder Jameer Reeder 5’10” | 180 lbs | ATH Holy Trinity | 2024 State NY is slowly becoming the most integral part of that squad. Reeder has routinely shown week in and week out that he deserves the ball in his hands. Already known as an elite defender Reeder has shown to be just as important on the offensive side of the ball and has become the engine of a really impressive Holy Trinity offense. With Reeder as a threat in the backfield expect more big plays from stars Josiah Brown Josiah Brown 5’11” | 175 lbs | WR Malverne | 2024 State NY and Dylan Braithwaite Dylan Braithwaite 5’10” | 175 lbs | WR Holy Trinity | 2023 State NY as he continues to open up the offense for Holy Trinity. Reeder’s impressive 3 TD 200+ yard performance against Immaculata (NJ) could be the reason Holy Trinity still has a 0 in the loss column.

Colin O’Garro Colin O’Garro 6’1″ | 205 lbs | RB Iona Prep | 2023 State NY has come on this season hot after a high ankle sprain caused him to miss almost half of last season. O’Garra has been a massive threat next to Ajani Sheppard Ajani Sheppard 6’3″ | 225 lbs | QB Iona Prep | 2023 State NY in the Iona Prep backfield. With over 700 yards rushing and 8 touchdowns this year O’Garro is not only on pace to eclipse the 1,000 yard mark but could get much higher if we are assuming Iona Prep makes their probable run through the playoffs. With D1 size, O’Garro has had the type of senior season that will get him some late interest as signing day for the class of 2023 is slowly approaching.
Dean Aquilina Dean Aquilina 6’3″ | 245 lbs | DL Chaminade | 2023 State NY had one of the best defensive performances we will see this year when he had 5TFL and 2 Sacks against a potent Cardinal Hayes offense. If you have seen Aquilina play this year you would know that this sort of performance is to no surprise. One of the best defensive lineman in New York Aquilina has had a dominant season. His penetration in the backfield has wreaked havoc for opposing offenses and his ability to bring down these athletic quarterbacks he has faced is impressive.
Highlights
Matthias Lighten Matthias Lighten 6’0″ | 180 lbs | ATH Moore Catholic | 2024 State NY has come on strong on both sides of the ball this season. A playmaker on the outside Lighten leads an electric Moore Catholic offense with almost 400 yards receiving and 6 TDs. On the defensive side of the ball Lighten has shown his prowess as a ball hawking defensive back where he has 3 INTs this season. Lighten’s skillset is that of a top-tier playmaker in New York. However, his defensive prowess and ability as a defensive back could help him continue to get interest from the D1 level.

Kenneth Antoine Kenneth Antoine 5’10” | 200 lbs | RB Cardinal Hayes | 2024 State NY is quietly having one of the best running back seasons in all of New York. The Junior through four games had almost 500 yards rushing and 3 TDs. Antoine is a shifty runner with the type of breakaway speed necessary for the next level. His ability to perform against the top competition in New York is also one of his most impressive qualities. Antoine does a really good job of making one cut and getting north up the field avoiding hits in the backfield and around the LOS. Antoines lack of plays with negative or no yardage is what makes him one of the best backs in all of New York State and the class of 2024.
Highlights
Responsible for over 70% of the receiving yards for St. John The Baptist Jayson Zeva Jayson Zeva 5’10” | 175 lbs | WR St. John The Baptist | 2023 State NY is a true playmaker. Zeva has great acceleration of the LOS and his route running ability help him get open consistently. Zeva may lack true D1 size but his ability to get open and athleticism will get him to the field at the next level. Zeva does a really good job carrying the offensive load for a really solid St. John The Baptist team.

Vaughan Johnson
Vaughan Johnson
Captain of Fordham Prep, Vaughan Johnson leads the team in both Tackles and Sacks. Johnson may not have elite size but his quickness and violent hands make him extremely difficult to block. With several FCS offers already and more offers rolling in coaches have noticed that the stat sheet is only part of the story. Johnson his elite at disrupting plays where he may not end up with any statistic to show for it.
Kaidan Paddy Kaidan Paddy 6’3″ | 315 lbs | OL Canarsie | 2023 State NY has put together the type of season that makes you wonder why he is not sitting on a bunch of offers. Currently playing OT for Canarsie Paddy likley will shift inside at the next level. However that is more due to incredible mobility. Paddy is a great blocker on space and has the speed and quickness to make open field blocks on smaller more athletic players. Paddy as a pulling guard and lead blocker is a great option for coaches. Paddy also has a really strong base with powerful arms. Paddy is having an incredible season so far and he picked up an offer from Delaware State to show for it.
Highlights
Matt Fitzsimons is leading an undefeated Somers squad with incredible efficiency. With a career completion percentage of almost 70% Fitzsimons is in such great command of the game. After losing his top receiver from last season Fitzsimons has looked just as impressive spreading the ball around offense. Fitzsimons throws a really good ball and after seeing what he has done this year it is hard to argue that he is one of the most accurate throwers in New York. His ability to make the simple plays and throws so routinely with little to no error is a trait that we often see modern QB’s lack. Fitzsimons efficiency and ability should be noted in the conversation of top QBs in the state.
