STATS: 16-24 | 289 Yards | 1 Touchdown | 30 Carries | 148 Yards | 4 Touchdowns rnIt’s about the fourth time this season that Rejoice Christian senior quarterback Chance Wilson Chance Wilson 6’3″ | 185 lbs | QB Rejoice Christian | 2023 State OK has been featured as a Top Performer. And while Friday’s performance in the win over Claremore Sequoyah might not have been his best performance, it’s without a doubt the most important so far this season. In a battle of unbeaten teams, Rejoice avoided the upset by knocking off Sequoyah in a game that Wilson could not be kept out of the end zone on the ground. Wilson ended up throwing for nearly 300 yards on the season and then he also added nearly 150 yards and four touchdowns on the ground. Wilson took the game over in the second half and finished with a season-high 30 carries on the night. Rejoice remained undefeated and Wilson continued his stellar senior season, furthering announcing himself as the best player in the state of Oklahoma right now.

STATS: 18 Carries | 305 Yards | 4 Touchdowns | 49 Yard Touchdown Reception rnIt’s crazy to think after the season he had last year, but this is the first week where Grove running back Emmanuel Crawford Emmanuel Crawford 5’10” | 170 lbs | RB Grove | 2023 State OK is featured as a Top Performer this season. Last year, Crawford was featured almost every single week but he’s definitely taking a new role this year. The Ridgerunners are hoping that Crawford doesn’t have as much wear and tear when the playoffs roll around. But on Friday night, the Ridgerunners were tested by Claremore but Crawford took his game to that level that we got used to seeing last year when he was a Player Of The Year finalist. In the win over the Zebras, Crawford couldn’t be stopped as he would finish with just over 300 yards and four touchdowns. He also caught a 49-yard touchdown. Crawford is still one of the more dynamic players in the state and he reminded everyone of that on Friday as he ran away from the Zebras and lit up the scoreboard in the process.
STATS: 23 Carries | 84 Yards | 1 Touchdown | 3 Catches | 160 Yards | 3 Touchdowns rnIn one of the best games of week five, McAlester went on the road and took down Del City in an overtime thriller. And it was star running back Erik McCarty Erik McCarty 6’2″ | 175 lbs | DB McAlester | 2023 State OK , an OU commit, who took this game over at several different moments, including the game-winning two-point conversion in overtime. McCarty finished with nearly 85 yards and a touchdown on the ground and he also caught three touchdowns. McCarty’s performance on Friday night was so reminiscent of what he did in the state championship game against Collinsville in 2021. McAlester played incredibly well but McCarty put the team on his back and carried that team. He might have run out of steam in the state title game as he dealt with cramping late. You could tell that McCarty is determined to never let that happen again and he finished the game strong with that game-winning two-point conversion as he wasn’t going to be denied at the goal line.
STATS: 2 Interceptions Returned For Touchdowns | 1 Receiving Touchdown rnThere are so many things that is impressive about the current run that Bixby is on. They beat Southmoore 80-0 on Friday night and extended their state record winning streak to 54 consecutive games. And during this run, they’ve been so balanced throughout and while the team has plenty of star power, they don’t have guys every single week that are putting up monster numbers. On Friday night, senior wide receiver and defensive back Jakeb Snyder Jakeb Snyder 5’10” | 170 lbs | WR Bixby | 2023 State OK had another strong performance, mainly on the defensive side of the ball. He had not one, but two interceptions that he took back for touchdowns. He also added a short touchdown reception on offense. His game was done by halftime and he enjoyed the rest of the Friday night blowout from the sidelines. Snyder is a prospect that we really like in the 2023 class. He might be somewhat undersized but this is a guy that is going to make it happen at the next level.

STATS: 15-21 | 200 Yards | 2 Touchdowns | 209 Rushing Yards | 3 Touchdowns rnWe should have known that week five was going to be wild with standout performances and outstanding finishes. Things began on Thursday night and one of the top games was Norman North beating Broken Arrow 57-50 in overtime. Leading the way for the Timberwolves was senior quarterback Kamden Sixkiller Kamden Sixkiller 6’4″ | QB Norman North | 2023 State OK . He had a great first half running the ball and finished with some very impressive numbers in the shootout victory. He finished with 200 yards passing and a pair of touchdowns while completing over 70 percent of his passes. He also added over 200 yards rushing and three touchdowns. He torched the Tiger defense early and often with the ground game. But he had to finish the job in the second half and in overtime as the Tigers were able to mount a comeback, sending the game to overtime. Sixkiller is an interesting QB prospect to watch as he waited for his time behind Gavin Frakes and has made the most of this season already.
STATS: 23-41 | 408 Yards | 6 Touchdowns rnMetro Christian took down Perkins-Tryon on Friday night in a game where the final score is definitely not indicative of how close this game was for the first three quarters. But one thing that was consistent from start to finish was Metro Christian senior quarterback Kirk Francis Kirk Francis 6’1″ | 185 lbs | QB Metro Christian | 2023 State OK . He finished with over 400 yards passing and six touchdowns. And the Patriots had a few moments where they were dealing with drops in some key spots early on, otherwise those numbers would have been even better on the night. We’ve long considered Francis one of the best quarterbacks in the state and he showed why on Friday night. Francis is arguably the best thrower of the football in the state right now. He can make every throw in the book and he makes it look easy. His pocket presence and game IQ is off the charts and coaches are seriously missing out by not pulling the trigger on Francis at this point in the process.
STATS: 321 Total yards | 5 Total Touchdowns rnEnid took another step to making it back to the playoffs when they knocked off Moore on Friday night and did it in impressive fashion. We’ve been impressed with the Enid offense so far this season and they’re incredibly balanced week in and week out. But in the win over Moore, it was the rushing attack and running back Luke Rauh Luke Rauh 6’1″ | 205 lbs | RB Enid | 2023 State OK who got the job done and could not be stopped. Rauh finished with just over 300 total yards and then accounted for five touchdowns on the night. Rauh isn’t the first Enid standout to be featured on this weekend breakdown this year. Wide receiver Tykie Andrews Tykie Andrews 6’0″ | WR Enid | 2023 State OK has been unstoppable through the first half of the season. Rauh is an interesting prospect to keep an eye on as his senior year continues. He’s putting up some really impressive numbers, has good measurables and as the season goes along and he continues to produce against strong competition, colleges should take notice.
STATS: 31 Carries | 260 Yards | 2 Touchdowns rnChickasha improved to 4-1 on the season and senior running back Malek Murphy Malek Murphy 6’0″ | RB Chickasha | 2023 State OK once again had an outstanding game as they took down John Marshall. The senior standout ran for 260 yards and a pair of touchdowns. At the halfway point of the season, Murphy has already eclipsed 1,000 yards, averaging at least 200 yards per game. Murphy has been a prospect that we’ve really liked since the end of his sophomore season. At that time, we started to see glimpses of a player who could take over games and was a dynamic runner with strength and speed. But we’ve been waiting for all of that to translate to the field on Friday nights. It appears that not only is it happening for Murphy, but Chickasha should be considered a serious dark horse in Class 4A. Their toughest district games are still ahead of them but there’s an argument to be made that Murphy is the best playmaker in the district.
STATS: 21 Carries | 339 Yards | 6 Touchdowns | 7 Catches | 136 Yards | 1 Touchdown | 2 Interceptions rnThis week was so great for individual performances and everyone on this breakdown earned their spot, but the best overall performance has to go to Beggs star running back Red Martel Red Martel 5’11” | 195 lbs | RB Beggs | 2024 State OK . As Beggs won a shootout with Victory Christian, Martel had one of the best individual performances that we’ve seen this year. The game wasn’t even over and social media was already buzzing about Martel’s performance and for good reason. Martel finished with well over 300 yards and six touchdowns on the ground. As if that wasn’t enough, he also caught seven passes and had 136 yards and a touchdown. And as if THAT wasn’t enough, he turned around and played defense and came up with two interceptions on that side of the ball at defensive back. Overall, nearly 500 yards of total offense from the Beggs star running back. He’s been considered one of the top prospects in the 2024 class an he showed why Friday night.
Highlights
STATS: 8 Catches | 259 Yards | 3 Touchdowns | 8 Carries | 20 Yards | 1 Touchdown | 13 Tackles rnIt was a rare non-district game on Thursday night as Southeast hosted 4A’s Cache. And the Spartans had a few standouts on the offensive side of the ball. Specifically the junior duo of Micheal Graham Micheal Graham 6’0″ | ATH Del City | 2024 State OK and Rodney Fields Rodney Fields 6’0″ | RB Del City | 2024 State OK . But we have to give the nod to Fields here. Those two connected on a hail mary as time expired to give the Spartans the win. While Graham threw the pass, Fields made the catch surrounded by three Cache defenders. We had to give him the nod there. And in the game, Fields was outstanding. He had over 250 yards receiving and three touchdowns. He also had a rushing touchdown and then 13 tackles on the defensive side of the ball. This isn’t the first time that Fields has been featured on this breakdown either. He’s enjoying a breakout season and has turned into one of the better playmakers in Class 5A this season. He should be a name to know moving forward.
