This article will feature some kids you may know as well as kids you won’t know. This bunch is young and talented. I look to see a few of these guys playing on the next level.
JaCari Owens JaCari Owens 6'1" | 200 lbs | LB Louisville | 2025 State MS , LB, Louisville
Owens caught an interception last night in Louisville’s win. This kid has a lot of upside and I can’t wait to continue to watch him play. He has some nice size standing at 6-foot-1, 190-pounds. He’s a guy that can cover or come up to make big hits. He has a great team behind him so the sky is the limit. He will only continue to get better. I love his playing style. He can line up on the edge and blitz and he has the speed to chase down running backs. He even has the potential to learn how to be a man-to-man cover linebacker. Owens has a lot of potential that he is tapping into the deeper his team goes into the playoffs.
Kam Triplett, WR, Louisville
Triplett is a 6-foot-1, 160-pound receiver out of championship country. He has some very good hands and he gets open a lot. He is very good and being a possession receiver. He is a guy that will keep the chains moving for his offense. I think he has the body frame to put on about fifteen more pounds before next season. He still has a great chance to rise his stock more in these playoffs.
Cortez Thomas, DB, Holmes Co Central
Thomas is a big physical corner that can cover and help on the run. You need cornerbacks when the opposing team has a giant at receiver. Thomas can play man press coverage and he also understands how to play his assignment when their defensive coordinator runs the zone. He has a lot of time in the offseason to get better than he is now. The sky is the limit for a kid with his size and athleticism.
Anson Lewis, Jr, WR, Columbia
Here is another good receiver who is in the 2025 class. This guy knows how to go and get the football. He gives defensive backs nightmares at a very young age. He runs decent routes, but I think the more he works on that the more he will see his stock rise. He doesn’t have any offers, but that is going to change soon. Once coaches see his work ethic and his ball skills he will be fine. He needs to hit the camp circuit heavy this summer to show off how good of a player he is. It will also help if he gets in the 7v7 circuit. I’m a big fan of this kid and think he has a lot of potential.
Kylin Champagne Kylin Champagne 5'11" | 205 lbs | RB Oak Grove Highschool | 2025 State MS , RB, Oak Grove
This running back knows how to tote the rock. His running style is very old school and I love the way he gallops on the gridiron. He is a 5-foot-11, 200-pound kid that is only fifteen years old. The older he gets the more he will grow. His biggest challenge will be making sure that he gets his speed down pat. Champagne brings the punch when he needs to and he can also catch the football out of the backfield. He is an old school back that would thrive in a run heavy offense. He does not mind getting a lot of carries a game.
