Continue ReadingWe are currently in that predictable and annual lull in the high school football season where state championships are concluding at many different paces, in-season recruiting has slowed, and preps are either catching their breath and reflecting on that season that was, or gearing up for that final state push. Fewer teams are playing, but the stakes are higher if your state’s season is still ongoing, but there is still interesting news and announcements that traditionally occur after the season, most notably: senior commitments. For the top-tier kids, you generally see commitments come before the season so they can focus on helping their team as much as possible, and with the addition of the Early National Signing Day most seniors are signed and committed before the first game of their senior season kicks off. That doesn’t mean everyone signs though, and for the prospects still uncommitted in November there is a ton of spotlight and attention directed their way as fans, friends, and family eagerly await a decision. It’s also always good to highlight the seniors and all of the work they’ve put in over their four years of football, and with all of these factors in mind, PrepRedzone is pumped to give you guys some details and facts regarding the Top-20 Uncommitted Prospects in the Midwest’s 2023 class. All P5-worthy talents as well! Thanks for reading.

1) Jyaire Hill Jyaire Hill 6'2" | 180 lbs | DB Kankakee | 2023 State IL (Kankakee, IL) ATH. 6’2, 180 lbs.
The prospect who goes by “Suga” is the top-ranked uncommitted Midwesterner and brings a weighty offer sheet to the table that continues to grow, the most recent addition coming from Billy Napier and the Florida Gators on November 4th. The senior has also received 27 offers from P5 and FBS programs led by the likes of Michigan, Notre Dame, Auburn, TCU, Tennessee, and a host of other heavyweights from every conference in the P5 ranks. According to 24/7Sports Crystal Ball, the Wolverines are the favorite to land the Chicagoland playmaker and track star, but instate Illinois shouldn’t be counted out and his offers from Florida and TCU during the season shouldn’t be discounted, as both P5 programs are putting good things on the field in 2022. Hill hasn’t taken any visits this fall so news in that department, but his senior tape looks great, as the long and rangy DB is twitchy, physical, and dangerous with the ball in his hands. He can cover a ton of ground in both run support and pass coverage, laid some big hits thanks to his efficient pursuit angles when coming downhill, and is instinctive and quick in reading and breaking on the ball. Also an explosive QB, WR, and returner, he projects to the defensive backfield in college and is set to make a decision here soon. Heckuva career for the Kankakee standout.
2) Malik Elzy Malik Elzy 6'3" | 195 lbs | WR Simeon | 2023 State IL (Simeon, IL) WR. 6’3, 190 lbs.
Coming out of Chicago powerhouse Simeon High School, well-built Elzy created some waves this fall when he de-committed from Cincinnati and reopened his recruitment during the fall of his senior year. There is a lot of buzz about the home state Illini playing a big factor in him changing commitments, but for now he remains open for business and has been focusing on his productive senior szn and helping the Wolverines to a 10-1 overall record and 5-0 conference mark. Tall, strong, and quick, with a ton of room to continue adding weight and muscle, Elzy looks the most impressive when he is floating through the air and high pointing the football through contact. His body control and lower body strength helps him land on his feet and continue upfield for more yards, and those same qualities also make him a bear to tackle in the open field, and he can cut around defenders or slip and run through them as well. Thanks to his long and powerful legs, he also possesses good speed that can cover a lot of ground with each step, and can turn simple WR screens at the LOS into long TD receptions. His strength, body control, and balance are my favorite qualities of his though, and there is a lot of reasons why he’s a unanimous 4-star prospect. There are a lot of eyes on Elzy and Simeon High School for the rest of this recruiting cycle.
3) John Randle II John Randle II 6'0" | 180 lbs | RB Wichita Heights | 2023 State KS (Wichita Heights, KS) RB. 6′, 185 lbs.
27 Power-5 programs have offered the senior RB from the Great State of Kansas, and although the list of suitors is lengthy and impressive, it seems the most recent offer has been gaining the most traction. PAC12 power Utah offered a scholarship in May, and although he visited the Kansas State Wildcats in June, he took an important official visit to the Utes in October, and if the common industry saying “follow the visits” rings true in this case, Utah is firmly in the drivers seat of this recruitment and should be considered the favorite at this time. With big play burst, speed, and vision, Randle Jr. popped off a ton of big plays between the tackles and can outrun or run through arm tackles and weaker tackle attempts while sprinting North-South. Randle II also is powerful and precise in his cuts, can drag and run through multiple defenders trying to hold him down, and I can’t get the word “powerful” to stop repeating in my head while I watch his senior tape. Can’t wait to see where he ends up.
4) William Spencer William Spencer 6'5" | 315 lbs | DL New Albany | 2023 State IN (New Albany, IN) DL/OL. 6’5, 315 lbs.
A product of Louisville, Kentucky but an Indiana prep at New Albany High School right over the Kentucky/Indiana border, Spencer is a 3x state runner-up on the gridiron and holds 11 D1 offers highlighted by Kentucky, Virginia Tech, Louisville, and Michigan State. According to his Twitter, the only recruiting-related news from this fall was a game day visit to VA Tech, and 24/7Sports reports that the Hokies and the Kentucky Wildcats are the frontrunners in his recruitment late in the fall. In his limited tape from 2022, the massive two-way lineman gets off the ball in an honestly terrifying fashion for a prospect of his size, and whether he’s at OT or DT it is incredibly hard for opponents to deal with and react to. He also shows off quick, active feet, good balance and a solid base, and a noticeably strong initial punch and overall pop. Spencer is quite an athlete for his size and could play on either side of the ball in college. I’m sure a decision is coming soon!
5) Asa Newsom Asa Newsom 6'4" | 205 lbs | DB Waverly-Shell Rock | 2023 State IA (Waverly-Shell Rock, IA) ATH. 6’4, 205 lbs.
The highest-ranked prospect currently uncommitted out of the Great State of Iowa, Newsom has been highly sought after since the summer of 2021 when the Nebraska Cornhuskers offered a B1G, P5 scholarship, an offer that was soon followed by Kansas State, South Dakota, Iowa, Mizzou, Minnesota, and Stanford, and from what I’ve been hearing since the late summer is that it’s a three-team race involving Iowa, Minnesota, and Stanford as the finalists as we inch closer and closer to the finishing line of the 6’4, 205 lbers. recruitment. The midseason 2022 highlights display a LB and WR with long, strong legs that help him easily run through tackle attempts, pursue sideline-to-sideline with great angles, and pull away and finish big runs and TD catches for six. Newsom also does a good job of using his frame and size to take on blocking attempts with strength or quickness, either eating the block with his chest or slipping under it if needed. Projects to LB in college and is going to be a dang good one thanks to that size and athletic skillset. I’ll be eagerly checking his recruitment status in the coming weeks.
6) Ryan Mooney Ryan Mooney 6'4" | 170 lbs | WR Orchard Lake St. Marys | 2023 MI (Orchard Lake-St. Mary’s, MI) WR/S. 6’3, 185 lbs.
I’ve covered Mooney and his meteoric rise in 2022 extensively, so I’ll make sure to keep this one shorter and not repeat myself, but the Michigan native in his first year of playing high school football has been nothing short of fantastic this season and has exploded onto the recruiting scene thanks to an eye-popping athletic showing during the summer camp circuit and into the fall. After putting up gaudy testing numbers at Miami (OH) prospect camp, the Redhawks offered an FBS MAC scholarship which was soon followed by Central Michigan and Dartmouth, which set up his decommitment from Notre Dame’s baseball team in September. Almost immediately after, Boston College, Eastern Illinois, UNLV, Illinois State, Marshall, Iowa, Tulane, Penn, and Harvard offered up, as well as Notre Dame and Michigan PWOs. Mooney is explosive, possesses real-deal speed, and tracks and plays the ball in his air reminiscent of his P5 baseball background. Also an instinctive and hard-hitting safety, Mooney is a natural playmaker and has elite body control and athleticism that belongs at the highest level of college football. I have, and will continue to, closely monitor Mooney’s recruitment and upcoming decision. So psyched you decided to play football, Ryan!
7) Ardell Banks Ardell Banks 6'2" | 180 lbs | WR Massilon Washington | 2023 State OH (Massillon Washington, OH) WR. 6’4, 180 lbs.
With optimal size for the WR position and coming out of the talent-rich Massillon area of NE Ohio, there is already a lot to like on paper in the senior Washington High School pass catcher. This season, Banks has received offers from Kentucky, Cincinnati, and Pittsburg, and this past weekend he took a noteworthy Official Visit to Lexington and UK. Things have progressed quickly since he committed to Toledo in April, and now that he’s firmly in the realm of P5 prospects you’d have to think that Kentucky is the favorite right now, especially if that OV went well. As an X receiver, Banks has been torching both man and zone coverage alike this fall, and impressively can eat up and surpass 10-yard cushions on simple post routes. There’s some serious speed in those long legs, which also allows him to make plays out of simple slants, where he can slip out of a tackle, turn upfield, and take off for six. Also shows a variety of moves in the open field to beat tackle attempts and presents a high-ceiling prospect at 6’4, 180 and 17-18 years old. Fun little recruitment to watch progress and I’m looking forward to seeing how it plays all the way out.
8) Breeon Ishmail Breeon Ishmail 6'5" | 205 lbs | WR Hamilton | 2023 State OH (Cincinnati Princeton, OH) LB/WR. 6’4, 220.
The transfer from Cincinnati Hamilton saw a significant in-season offer come his way this fall as the Michigan Wolverines offered a scholarship on October 21st, adding another impressive achievement during the massive athlete’s senior season. Prior to that, Ishmail was also offered by Marshall earlier in October, and brought double-digit P5, FBS, and FCS offers into the season from the likes of Kentucky, Tennessee, Bowling Green State, and Cincinnati. We’ll see how things continue to progress, but it’s not a surprise to see a late bump in Ishmail’s recruiting after checking out his midseason tape. He looks all of his reported weight, has been a thunderous hitter in 2022, and shows off good pursuit speed and the ability to tackle in space. Also shows that he can play inside or outside linebacker and be disruptive and productive from either position. Can’t wait for the full regular season tape!
9) Chase Hendricks Chase Hendricks 5'11" | 185 lbs | WR St. Mary's | 2023 State MO (St. Mary’s, MO) WR. 5’11, 185 lbs.
A shifty route-runner who can drop his hips and cut and create space smoothly and easily, Hendricks is dangerous at all points of the route as a WR with beautiful ball skills, top-end speed, and a ton of ways to beat tackle attempts. He’s even got some solid blocks reps in his game-to-game tape and looks like a dangerously balanced prep wideout as a senior for St. Mary’s in St. Louis, Missouri. This is all good news for one of his potential future homes and should make the lucky suitor quite happy, but the only recruiting-related news I saw from the senior this fall was a game day visit to Kansas State in early September. This doesn’t mean he isn’t sought-after or hasn’t been balling out though, as his offer list is quite healthy at 14 D1 opportunities and headlined by Texas, Iowa, Purdue, Kansas, and West Virginia. It’s honestly hard to gather where his recruiting is currently at. He took an official visit to Iowa back in March and a lot of his P5 offers came in 2020 and then in spring of ’22, and although he took that notable visit to Kansas State this season he doesn’t hold an offer from the Wildcats. If you’re a college recruiting fanatic like me then this is a particular 2023 storyline you’re going to want to continue to follow.
10) K’Vion Thunderbird K’Vion Thunderbird 6'1" | 205 lbs | LB Kenwood Academy | 2023 State IL (Kenwood Academy, IL) LB. 6’1, 215 lbs.
There’s something special in the water at Kenwood Academy and the Broncos have a star-studded roster in 2022 led by P5 talents in the 2023 and 2024 classes. Surprisingly, one of their senior remains unsigned, but LB K’Vion Thunderbird K’Vion Thunderbird 6'1" | 205 lbs | LB Kenwood Academy | 2023 State IL is far from unheralded, with Oregon, Auburn, Toledo, Michigan State, Akron, Purdue, Western Michigan, Miami (OH), Wyoming, Tennessee, Kansas, Mizzou, Buffalo, Ball State, and Ole Miss, all in the year of 2022. Interestingly, there isn’t much news on the recruiting forefront from this fall, and from an outside perspective, there are not a lot of indications about where he’s leaning or favoring at this point. However, Thunderbird has been balling this fall, just earned 6A All-State honors, and totaled 109 tackles, 6 TFLs, 2 FF, an interception, and a defensive TD in the Broncos 8-4 2022 campaign. The 6’1, 215 lber. originally caught my eye during his COVID-stricken sophomore season simply due to how hard he hits, and he carried that trait into his senior season as well, smashing ball carriers all over the field and sometimes only off a couple of steps worth of momentum. Thunderbird is a LB who is always around the ball, and a big word I can’t help of think of a lot while watching his senior film is range. Both East to West and North-South, Thunderbird can cover a ton of ground in pursuit and while dropping in pass coverage, and has the speed and instincts to limit big plays and shut down big offensive weapons. He also does some good things around the LOS to beat blocks and turn out TFLs. Can’t wait to see where the 773 product ends up.
11) Grant Chapman Grant Chapman 6'5" | 280 lbs | OL Anoka | 2023 State MN (Anoka, MN) OL. 6’5, 280 lbs.
As the lead scout at PrepRedzoneMN, I’ve loved following and watching Anoka’s 6’5, 280 lber. Grant Chapman Grant Chapman 6'5" | 280 lbs | OL Anoka | 2023 State MN and his progression as a prep offensive lineman, but the truth is that the senior has gone relatively dark, at least publicly, on the recruiting front for a while now and I don’t know what he’s thinking, where he’s leaning, or even who is really in play. Chapman blew up early and saw a good 2021 that generated P5 offers from Iowa State, Kansas, and Kansas State, and he followed that up with three junior day or unofficial visits to Iowa State, Minnesota, and Kansas State, but since April 17th when he was in Manhattan, Kansas, he’s only retweeted his teammates recruiting news and it doesn’t sound like he’s been answering the DMs of GopherIllustrated contributor Ryan Burns, so I’m just going to sit back and relax and enjoy watching this young man make his decision whenever he’s ready. I’m sure there’s been recruiting behind the scenes, and I’m definitely not worried about Chapman’s talent, as his senior film is strong and shows off a LT capable of dominating in run blocking with good strength and a solid punch, comfortable in pass pro, and able to execute traps and folds thanks to quick feet and athleticism. I am a big fan of his reps of comboing and then breaking down in space to block smaller opponents, as well as lead blocking out on the edge. Another interesting recruitment to watch for the more hardcore fans.
12) Trey Cornist Trey Cornist 6'0" | 210 lbs | RB Winton Woods | 2023 State OH (Winton Woods, OH) RB. 5’11, 210 lbs.
Winton Woods is stacked to the brim with talent and a plethora of preps at various stages in their D1 recruitment but saw an already committed senior in get back in the mix in their record-setting RB Trey Cornist Trey Cornist 6'0" | 210 lbs | RB Winton Woods | 2023 State OH when he decommitted from Georgia Tech in late October. Predictably, things have blown up for the big-time talent out of the fertile recruiting grounds of Ohio, and since he backed off his Yellow Jackets commitment he’s earned offers from East Carolina, Tulane, WKU, Michigan State, Kentucky, Kansas State, Louisville, and West Virginia. Explosive, strong, and possessing vision and contact balance, Cornist does not look like a fun kid to try and tackle and can run by you or easily run over and through you depending on the situation. He also can run by you untouched with no problems either, and is a natural big play ‘back who has excelled against quality Ohio competition and should come into college more ready to play then most. This reincarnated recruitment is still in its earlier stages I think so stay posted with our PRzOH scout Jared Luginbill as this continues to develop.
13) Willtrell Hartson Willtrell Hartson 5'11" | 200 lbs | RB Massillon Washington | 2023 State OH (Massillon Washington, OH) RB. 5’9, 200 lbs.
We’re back in Massillon, Ohio and back at Washington High School with another outstanding offensive weapon in the final stages of his prep career and recruitment. RB Willtrell Hartson Willtrell Hartson 5'11" | 200 lbs | RB Massillon Washington | 2023 State OH holds 11 D1 offers highlighted by a P5 offer from Boston College. He took a game day visit to Tennessee on October 30th however, but has overall been focusing on his senior season and seems to be heading for a decision firmly after the season. Low pad level, homerun speed, hands out of the backfield, and consistent production against some great Ohio high school opponents are a few of the things I like the most from his senior tape. Someone is going to get a baller!
14) Sam Van Dyne Sam Van Dyne 6'3" | 200 lbs | QB Liberty North | 2023 State MO (Liberty North, MO) QB. 6’3, 205 lbs.
Brings good size to the table as a QB and coming out of the underrated Show-Me State, senior Sam Van Dyne Sam Van Dyne 6'3" | 200 lbs | QB Liberty North | 2023 State MO holds offers from Mizzou, UAB, and Lindenwood (now an FCS school) but it doesn’t look like he’s taken any visits this fall while manning the helm for Liberty North High School, outside of the KC Metro. In his midseason senior tape, Van Dyne was throwing at a 61% completion clip with 11 TDs and can throw accurately from the pocket or on the run. He fit the ball into some tight windows between the hashes and near the sideline and possess good-looking and consistent mechanics, and with his size and balanced skillset it makes since why the homestate SEC school got involved. However, I have no idea when he’ll make a decision or where his recruitment is at, so stay posted with PRzMO and contributor JP Rock for updated news on his commitment status.
15) Colin Van Rooy (Strongsville, OH) OL. 6’5, 300 lbs.
The 6’5, 300 lb. LT is a lean and mean 300 lber. who can easily wash defenders out of the play, has strong hands, and looks impressive and dominant in pass pro with a comfortable and efficient drop and good timing in his punch. Van Rooy knows how to use his size, footwork, and body positioning to easily win 1-on-1 battles and has great technique and a leaner frame to build and develop in a college strength and conditioning program. The Strongsville senior saw his recruitment take off this past winter when four FBS MAC schools offered, followed by a slew of FCS offers, and culminating in June with an ACC offer from Pitt. Fordham also reached out this October with an offer, so there’s a variety of opportunities here and with some visits taken to the MAC suitors I could see him staying closer to home and getting some #MACTION.
16) Dakotah Mayo Dakotah Mayo 5'8" | 160 lbs | WR CBC | 2023 State MO (Christian Brothers College, MO) WR. 5’10, 160 lbs.
Coming out of powerhouse St. Louis-area program Christian Brothers College, unsigned WR Dakotah Mayo Dakotah Mayo 5'8" | 160 lbs | WR CBC | 2023 State MO has been on recruiting boards since he was an underclassman and earned his first D1 offer back in January of 2021 when the Kansas Jayhawks offered the young buck. Since then, eight other programs from the FBS and HBCU ranks have joined the fray, but Mayo isn’t deciding until the time is right and seems to still be weighing his options and continuing to make plays for CBC. Explosive as an X receiver and kick returner, Mayo has been elusive and quick after the catch and has left a lot of defenders grasping at air in his wake this season, but I really like his body control and balance when reeling in some of these deep catches. Mayo just stays upright through contact and in high-pointing situations in situations many other prep pass-catchers simply can’t, and his athleticism and ability to make plays against some excellent Missouri competition shouldn’t be taken for granted either. He’ll be a baller no matter where he lands and I would have no problem holding a scholarship spot open for him later in the process.
17) Jamond Mathis Jamond Mathis 6'4" | 205 lbs | DL Duchesne | 2023 State MO (Duchesne, MO) LB/DE. 6’4, 235 lbs.
Holds 20 offers from all levels of D1 football with P5 Colorado and Kansas offers leading the charge but hasn’t reported any visits from the fall and his last offer came in July from Campbell, who has an outstanding and news-worthy recruiting class for this 2023 cycle. Is a massive but still lean 6’4, 230+ LB on tape with pursuit and closing speed that can blitz, protect and pursue to the edge, and beat blocking attempts either speed, quickness, or brute force. You don’t see LBs of that size, in high school, be able to run and change direction like this that often, so I’m already excited to see how his future college football home uses him in their defense. I’ll be keeping a close eye on this senior’s recruitment for the rest of 2022-23.
18) D’Juan Waller (Chaney, OH) DB. 6’3, 190 lbs.
The product from Youngstown does not have an active Twitter but according to 247Sports he’s been blowing up this fall and earned a Michigan offer a few days ago and is set to visit Ann Arbor in their upcoming game with Illinois. Toledo, Ball State, Kentucky, West Virginia, Marshall, and Ohio are also on the table. Intriguing frame for a safety with excellent closing speed and dominance at the point of contact. Waller is instinctive, efficient, and patient when reading the QB’s eyes and/or route combinations, and is athletic and dynamic enough to contribute in all three phases of the game. Waller is everything you’d want and imagine out of a safety of that size and brings the physical presence you’d hope for from the safety position. No surprise at all why Michigan is involved after seeing his senior film, and for the record, the Wolverines have done an outstanding job of identifying 2023s during this senior season this fall, trusting the eval and their eyes, and securing the commitment. Waller may be another great example of that soon.
19) Jonathan Humpal Jonathan Humpal 5'10" | 165 lbs | RB Lewis Central | 2023 State IA (Lewis Central, IA) RB. 5’10, 180 lbs.
The senior from Council Bluffs reports good athletic numbers including a 4.62 40, 4.2 short-shuttle, 9’10” broad jump, and 33-inch vertical, and became a P5 prospect in February of 2021 when Iowa State offered a Big12 opportunity and then a year later in February of 2022 when Kansas also offered. Since then, only DIIs have reached out, but Humpal has All-State and state championship credentials and will make for a late pickup with a ton of juice to boost a 2023 recruiting class. On film as a senior, he’s dangerous out of the backfield as a receiver as well as a kick returner, and has put a ton to like on the gridiron this fall. His sprinting technique helps him with good burst and gives him that extra gear to finish runs and torch pursuit angles, he laid a massive hit lead blocking on a kickoff return, and also contributed as a CB in 2022. Like I said, there’s a variety of things to like from Humpal’s senior year skillset and he’s a must-know for the remaining 2023 class out of Iowa.
20) Andre Crews Andre Crews 5'9" | 175 lbs | ATH Simeon | 2023 State IL (Simeon, IL) RB. 5’11, 180 lbs.
The 2022 senior stat-monster has had a prolific year on the ground for Simeon High School and has seen his production pay off as he earned his FIRST P5 offer in the middle of October as the Nebraska Cornhuskers reached out in exciting fashion. Through 10 weeks of fall football, Crews posted 129 carries for 1,741 yards and 32 TDs to lead Illinois’ leaderboard and average a 13.5 YPC average against CPL competition. Prior to that, Crews held FBS offers from Akron and Air Force and FCS offers from South Dakota, Eastern Illinois, Western Illinois, and St. Thomas, so that Nebraska offer was an exciting addition and Crews will most likely make a decision around the time his aforementioned teammate Malik Elzy Malik Elzy 6'3" | 195 lbs | WR Simeon | 2023 State IL does. A splash place machine between the tackles or out on the edge, Crews can make use of the slightest bit of space, was on a different level of speed than his Chicago-born opponents, and was consistently explosive in 2022. With Simeon’s tradition of products and the general success Chicago-bred athletes see at the next level it makes sense why a B1G school would get involved. Great season and great career, Andre!
21) Evan Herrmann (Sussex Hamilton, WI) EDGE. 6’6, 210 lbs.
A senior who saw his stock blow up later in the process than most, shading the aforementioned Ryan Mooney Ryan Mooney 6'4" | 170 lbs | WR Orchard Lake St. Marys | 2023 MI out of Michigan, 6’6, 210 lb. EDGE Evan Herrmann came out of nowhere in his first year of starting on varsity and along with his stellar play, earned offers from Vanderbilt, Ohio, and Wyoming and has earned a multitude of game day visits from Midwest P5 schools all over the place. The thing with Wisconsin kids is they all grow up loving the Badgers -obviously – and Wisconsin is stingy with their instate offers and PWOs, so getting an opportunity from them can be a dealbreaker and take precedence very quickly. The Badgers have been involved this fall, gotten him to Camp Randall, and are in touch, so don’t count them out until Herrmann signs, seals, and delivers. With a frame that is sure to blow up in a college S&C program and experience out on the edge with his hand in the dirt or out of a two-point stance, Herrmann has a great get-off, eye-popping pursuit speed that can run plays down from the backside, and efficiency executing stunts & twists, there are just a ton of raw and impressive athletic tools and I love his motor and hustle as well. Great find by Vandy and can’t wait to see where this kid ends up. His best football days are in front of him.
22) Richard Benenge Richard Benenge 6'2" | 220 lbs | LB Harrisburg | 2023 State (Harrisburg, South Dakota) LB. 6’2, 225 lbs.
The South Dakota thumper holds a diverse set of offers from Army, Akron, Campbell, UNLV, San Jose State, Arizona State and posted a monster senior stat line of 113 tackles, 22 TFLs, 2.5 sacks, 6 PBUs, an INT, and 2 FFs. With impressive start-stop ability that aides him when blitzing, closing in space, or reacting to RB paths, Benenge has been instinctive, experienced, and productive over the course of his outstanding prep career. I’m especially impressed with some of his reps in pass coverage, where he gracefully drops into passing lanes in zone or carries TEs and SBs into the middle of the field in man coverage. Great size too. I’m already excited for Benenge’s future signing day at Harrisburg High School.
