Nichols is a prospect that shows physical dominance amongst his competition. He backs up his 4-star rating, flying sideline to sideline from his edge position. He even plays WR and TE on offense. He splits double teams and swats passes when he doesn’t reach the QB and makes it really hard for offenses to run and call screens on the perimeter.
Highlights
He’s a very impressive prospect, that athletic at that height can be a weapon. He uses a variety of moves to get around blocks such as the spin, and chop to name a couple. One play really stands out where he meets the ball carrier at the 1-yard line and drives them out of bounds.
With Baxter you can see that he is oozing with athleticism. He is a tower among his opponents at 6’7, beating his containment from the edge is difficult for most players. He moves like a skill position; he can outrun every offensive lineman and can outrun LB’s and DB’s from his WR position on offense. He’s an athletic mismatch whether he’s playing edge, TE, or receiver. Most recently received an offer from Rutgers adding to his list of 9.
Onwuka does a good job of setting a hard edge on this defensive line. He uses his long arms and hand combat to keep blockers off of his body, freeing him up to jump into running lanes. He currently has a few offers including Marshall and Boston college. He plays an important part of the well-oiled Flowers defense.
Custis is a strong and agile athlete, able to set the edge and squeeze down on the play in the backfield. He has an arsenal of moves that we first witnesses at the TCA Gauntlet Linemen Showcase over the summer. His speed moves are quick, and he uses his strength when engaged with blockers to easily shed and pursue the ball. Custis even makes some appearances on offense receiving and running the ball showing how versatile his skill set is. So far, he has offers from Kent State and Akron with interests from a few other D1 schools on the east coast.
Highlights
Rivers has emerged as an impact player along the Northwest D-line. He is fast and explosive, he isn’t your typical defensive lineman. He’s 230+ pounds but built like a running back and moves as fast or faster than any other player in the box. Rivers is on the verge to land himself a couple offers and interests over the offseason. Between his film and anticipated showcases performances, keep an eye on Rivers to work his way onto some recruiting boards soon.
