Garrett Lewis – Chesterton – RB – 6’1” 195lbs – 2024
Lewis is a dynamic back with a ton of power. He’s got a bulky thick frame with plenty of size that allows him to play and run aggressive. He’s got fantastic speed and is able to hit the open field with ease. He’s not going to make a ton of people miss, but he’s going through them if they don’t move. He’s a powerful back who can initiate contact and bounce right off of it. This season, he looked really good. He led the team in rushing and total TDs. Lewis understands zone scheme running and blocking and is good at letting the blocks set up, find his lane, sticking his foot in the ground, and getting vertical. While I didn’t see much tape of it, I’m sure he’s more than capable of pass protection, especially with his frame. Lewis is a back who could also be good in the redzone at the next level as well. With his lower center of gravity and ability to absorb hits he could score a ton of TDs at the next level. He’s fun, got another year, and should be primed for a huge season next year.
Sebastian Boswell Sebastian Boswell 6'3" | 210 lbs | QB Chesterton | 2024 State IN – Chesterton – QB – 6’3″ 195lbs – 2024
Boswell had a really good year in terms of development and improving across the board. For his age, he’s got fairly good feet and shoulders. His feet and shoulders go as he go and that’s the way it should be. Very rarely does he make an off platform throw. He’s someone you can tell spends time in the offseason working on the little details. His arm is decent and throws effortlessly. With a flip of the wrist he’s able to let it go and the ball glides through the air. He’s able to put some heat on it when he needs to and can drop it over the top. He’s a decent athlete and can run but is best when he’s in the pocket dealing. Boswell isn’t afraid to take the aggressive throw and trust himself. More often than not, good things happen for him and his offense. He’s got a good head on his shoulders and while he did have a few more interceptions than he’d like this year, I’m fine with it because he was pushing the ball downfield. Now, there’s a time and place and to know when to take your check-downs. Can’t go broke taking a profit, but what I like is Boswell’s confidence. He doesn’t get rattled and only check it down after an interception. He remains the same fearless aggressive QB who wants 6 on the board. Boswell has some room to grow but I really like where he is in terms of development and with another year to go, he could easily be even that more refined when he comes out. Boswell is a QB who can come in, develop, and start for his program down the road.
Ethan Troy – Chesterton – ATH – 6’0″ 190lbs – 2023
Troy is a versatile player who has made an impact in all 3 phases for Chesterton and can easily do the same somewhere at the next level. He’s got a decently thick frame and has decent speed for his size. He’s played RB, WR, LB, and returned kicks for Chesterton and had success doing all 3 phases of the game. Offensively, they’ve even used him out of the backfield to catch passes and extend drives on 3rd downs. He’s won routes on the outside as an X receiver as well. He’s got good hands and won’t drop it when it comes his way which leads to some nice looking grabs. Defensively, he’ll comedown hill and plug the lane and make a tackle. He’s able to run in coverage as well and if he can flip his hips better, he could probably succeed in man coverage at the next level as well. Returning kicks he’s looked good as well. He’s made guys miss and has speed to make a big return. He’s quite literally played all over the field and makes play after play. Whether the ball is in his hands or not, Troy is someone who can make any program better with versatility alone. A hungry recruit who can play all 3 phases of the game is someone worth having in your building.
Devin Sain – Chesterton – ATH – 6’3″ 195lbs – 2023
Sain in someone who makes no sense, but in a good way. This dude is 6’3″ and plays LB, DB, TE, and is all over the field to the point where you think there are 2 different #37’s running around for Chesterton. Nope, sure enough it’s Sain going insane. Whether he’s blowing up plays in the backfield, making a tackle near the LOS, or deflecting a pass this man can do it all. With his frame, he’s someone you’d think would be on the line strictly but he’s incredibly nimble, bends better than most his size, and is explosive. I feel if you put Sain on the line he could eat, but he’s best flying around making plays everywhere. He’s just got the knack to get home and shoot gaps. He’s incredibly strong just naturally and throws guys around all the time. As he develops in a weight room at a college program, he could become a menace to society if he puts everything together. I’m not sure where he’ll play at the next level position wise but my guess is he’s got legit options and can be any of the 3 he does now but I anticipate him staying defense and closer to the ball. He just makes too many good things happen for his defense not to keep him on that side of the ball. Guys with his size, strength, and versatility don’t come around that often. He’s fun and I’m anxious to see where he ends up because he could easily make an impact.
Danny Goveia – Chesterton – LB – 6’0″ 190lbs – 2023
Goveia has made his impact in a multitude over the years but being a beast on Special Teams has to be where he’s really changed the most games. Over the years, he’s blocked more kicks than you should be able to during a 4 year span. He’s just got a special ability for getting home and making the block. Defensively, he’s similar in terms of he’ll do anything to make the play. He’s a high motor, high energy guy who plays for his team, as are all of these guys in today’s piece. He’s really developed physically over the years and seems like someone who is only going to continue developing in college. Goveia plays the run really well and is able to get off blocks and make the tackles inside the box. He’s got strong and aggressive hands and will go for the strip if he sees the ball. He comes to balance and is rarely out of control of his body. He’s likely going to come in and help a Special Teams unit and get some playing time as he develops at his position. A great way to see the field and make an impact early is Special Teams and that’s right where Goveia is best.
