Wunderlich was fantastic and did what he needed to do when he needed to in order to get the win. He was dialed in early and made play after play when it counted most. He took Mater Dei right down the field on the opening drive to set the tone. He later hit Stolz again for a second TD in the back of the endzone. He knew where he wanted to go with the ball and got it out on time. There were times he struggled on the run with accuracy but overall he looked really good. Most importantly, he stood strong in the pocket all evening and never flinched on the biggest stage and because of that, they left state champions.

Ethan Stolz – Evansville Mater Dei – WR – 6’1″ 180lbs – 2023
Stolz picked a great time to have the game of his life. He’s a sound recruit with decent upside and Saturday he showed everything he’s capable. He scored 2 TDs from Wunderlich and both were impressive. The first one he caught over the middle, brushed off a hit, split the safeties, and hit the gas. His second TD was in the front corner of the endzone and he made a nice adjustment to it in air to secure the TD and put Andrean away. He’s listed at 6’1″ but felt longer than that and his catch radius spoke for itself. He’s someone who can easily make a name for himself at the next level.

Spencer Turner – Evansville Mater Dei – LB – 5’10” 185lbs – 2024
Turner was fantastic and was all over the field yesterday. He made arguably 2 of the biggest plays in the game for the defense and shut down Andrean himself to a degree. He made a handful of open field tackles and prevented a big play. Andrean was held in check, partially by the pressure and ability of Mater Dei to impact the backfield. Right before the half, Turner picked off Andrean and got the ball right back which lead to more points before half. He was sideline to sideline and Mater Dei’s defense was flying to the ball all game and Turner led the way.
Clay Martin – Evansville Mater Dei – DL – 6’1″ 210llbs – 2023
Martin was awesome and was the biggest issue for Andrean possible. He was killing the interior of their line and was in the backfield regularly. He’s able to win outright and has a relentless motor. He had a huge sack to end the 1st half when Andrean was moving and finally looking to get points. Martin also had a key TFL where he killed another drive. He wasn’t done there yet as he finished his day off with a fumble recovery on the 10-yard line. He’s got a great center of gravity and has an incredibly strong lower body and it gave Andrean problems all day.
