Richard Pacheco Jr. had a really solid performance on the ground for Moore Catholic. 15 carries for 101 yards and 2 touchdowns averaging 6.7 yards per carry was a very effective performance for Moore Catholic. Pacheco Jr. helped Moore Catholic dominate the time of possession and control the entire game. Pacheco also had a 55 yard kickoff return to add to his dominant day on the ground. Only a sophomore Pacheco should be starting to get some serious interest from schools in addition to his only offer from Temple.
John Michalski John Michalski 6’1″ | 200 lbs | QB Moore Catholic | 2023 State NY did not have his best day as a passer but he made up for it on the ground. 133 yards through the air on 8 of 14 passing for only 57% completion percentage. On the ground Michalski was unstoppable. 18 carries for 198 yards and one touchdown made up for is uncharacteristic performance as a passer. Averaging 11 yards per run and running for several first downs helped Moore Catholic keep drives alive throughout the game. Overall Michalski had 331 total yards which was the most in the NYCHSFL AA Quarterfinals.
Highlights
Dowan Coachman Dowan Coachman 5’10” | 190 lbs | LB Moore Catholic | 2023 State NY was all over the field for the Moore Catholic defense as he had 11 total tackles. Coachman has great athleticism and solid size for a linebacker and he made his presence known against St. Francis. Coachman helped the Moore Cathlic defense hold the St. Francis offense to only 7 points.

Jericho Ancheta
Jericho Ancheta did not wow through the air in terms of yards or big plays but of his four receptions that went for 58 yards, three of them went for Touchdowns. Ancheta was unstoppable in the redzone and delivered with three scores. Those were Ancheta’s first three scores of the year and he waited for a great time to have a performance like this outscoring St. Joseph-by-the-sea on his own.

Charlie English
Charlie English had a really dominant game on the ground for Fordham Prep. On 24 carries, English had 160 yards and a touchdown. English was the star of the game and was responsible for pushing the ball down the field for Fordham Prep. English’s ability on the ground helped Fordham Prep control the game and come away with a 28-14 victory.
A dominant win for St. John the Baptist all started because of the performance of star running back Elijah Alvarez Elijah Alvarez 6’0″ | 180 lbs | ATH St. John The Baptist | 2023 State NY . Alvarez had 12 carries for 135 yards and two touchdowns. Outside of one run from Ethan Smith, Alvarez was the only back for St. John the Baptist who could get going. Alvarez also pitched in three tackles on defense and has slowly become on of the most important players to their team in the entire NYCHSFL.

Luka Skoda Luka Skoda 6’0″ | 205 lbs | LB St. John The Baptist | 2025 State NY is only a sophomore but he plays like a veteran. 13 Tackles, 8 Solo, 1 TFL are a dominant performance from your linebacker. Skoda is all over the field and making plays often. Skoda’s ability to run sideline to sideline and make plays both near the line of scrimmage and down the field on the sidelines are some of the best in New York. Skoda had an incredible game and is the most important defense player for this St. John the Baptist in these playoffs.

Nick Duryea
Nick Duryea
Nick Duryea saved his best performance this season for the playoffs as he totaled 205 yards on the ground and added two scores. Nick’s dominance on the ground helped the Kennedy Catholic get passed the higher seed Holy Cross 29-20. Duryea averaged over six yards a carry and 30 touches of the ball meaning Kennedy Catholic fully trusted Duryea to carry them to a victory.
