In the first highlight here, Elijah uses his quickness to beat the blocker and then has the awareness to strip the ball out of the hand of the QB.
On this second clip you see Davis’ elite get-off which he uses to beat his man, get down the line, and make the tackle.
Davis was active all evening. As he continues to develop
Highlights
Mitch didn’t have a big night throwing the ball, but he made some timely passes and was able to use his legs to make some plays.
On this first clip Bolden drops back sees there’s nothing open and takes off for a big 42 yard run. My apologies for not getting the drop back.
In this second clip the firebirds runs a read option off a jet sweep and keeps it for the touchdown run.
On the third clip, Mitch does a good job of avoiding the rush, and then makes a beautiful side arm throw for the touchdown.
Luka only had one catch on the evening, but between that catch and his blocking he made an impact of the game. He appears to be close to his listed 6’7 height.
Here is Gilbert’s lone catch on the night. He runs a nice seam route and makes himself available for the catch. In the running game he did a good job of engaging defenders and locking in.

Tyler has a huge leg. He was routinely hitting 50 plus yard field goals in warmups and even hit one from 62. It must be said that there was a nice wind as his back, but still 62 yards is 62 yards. He did a great job of hitting some deep squib kicks early on to minimize the Princeton kickoff return game. He also placed two kickoffs in the endzone for touchbacks. As you can see in the clips below, he can pretty much do it all as a kicker.
Marquardt is in his first season as punter for the Firebirds. In warm ups he was routinely hitting punts that were traveling 50 and 60 yards in the air with great hangtime. In the game he was no less impressive. He had 4 punts for 201 yards for a 50 yard average. He long on the night was a massive 78 yard punt that traveled nearly 50 yards in the air before rolling another 28 that would be downed on the Princeton 2-yard line. Marquardt is definitely one to watch in the future.

Grant missed a portion of the season due to a hand injury. Last week he made his first varsity start and made contributions to the Firebirds opening playoff week win. He’s a really long athlete at 6’4 190 pounds. He’s twitchy, has and also has good hips and feet for someone his height. in the open field, he’s a fluid runner. Last night versus Princeton he played mostly special teams. He’s played tight end as well for West, so we know he has the hands and ball skills to make an impact if teams try to throw at him. As Beerman continues to fill out and get stronger, I think he has a very high ceiling as a very versatile outside linebacker.
