We are officially into the month of November and the cream is rising to the crop around the country for the class of 2027. The prospect landscape is starting to become clearer and below is a look at some class of 2027 prospects (athletes in their eighth-grade school year) that have come across my desk. As football recruiting and evaluating continues to change, the eighth-grade season is becoming a pivotal time for young athletes to garner early attention from Universities. Here’s a look at some prospects that are on the trajectory to be playing a high level of football for years to come.
Wyatt is another quarterback hailing from the state of Mississippi. Just from what I have seen from him so far, it is clear that Wyatt is a quarterback that prep football fans should be looking out for coming out of this 2027 class. in fact, he already took some varsity snaps after Whether he is carrying the ball, or dropping back and slinging the ball around, Wyatt always finds a way to get the job done. On the run, Wyatt seems to be very twitchy, making it difficult for defenders to bring him down at the point of attack. In the passing game, Wyatt has a very smooth and controlled throwing motion. His throwing motion and cadence allow him to deliver easy balls to his wideouts. I am very impressed with what I’ve seen from Wyatt and I am excited to see where he goes from here.
Jayden is a hard-nosed running back coming out of the state of Nebraska. One of the things that immediately jumps out to me as part of Jayden’s game is ability to find running lanes. When he is carrying the ball, Jayden stays patient and allows the play to develop in front of him before making a decision on where to go with the ball. Jayden is also a very physical runner who does not shy away from contact, nor does he go down easily. When Jayden is working his way to the end zone, he has no problem running through defenders to get to where he needs to go. Lastly, Jayden is incredibly athletic and has no problem making moves on defenders to get around them. Overall, Jayden has plethora of tools that allow him to be great as running back and I am excited to watch his career develop in the future.
Highlights
Semaj is gifted two-way player coming of out the Jenks High School feeder program, in the highly competitive state of Oklahoma. At 5-foot-10 and 150-pounds, primarily playing running back, Semaj has the vision and the breakaway speed to be a problem for defenses. He does a very good job of finding running lanes and making cuts through the line of scrimmage to continue advancing the ball. After that, Semaj lets his speed do the rest of the work. On the defensive side of the ball Semaj ball hawking defensive back capable of covering large pieces of real estate on the football field. As a defensive back Semaj shows that he can track the quarterbacks eyes and predict where the ball is going. After that, Semaj attacks the ball and high-points the pass to either break up the ball or intercept it. Semaj has proved early on that he can be a game changer, and it wouldn’t be surprising to see him start to see him receive recruiting attention early.
Preston is a game changing receiver coming out of the state of South Carolina. Preston is a big target with elite speed that makes him incredibly difficult to cover on the perimeter. Along with that, Preston has phenomenal hands that almost guarantees a completion every time he is targeted by his quarterback and fellow 2027 Watch List selection, Grayson Clary Grayson Clary 6’2″ | 215 lbs | QB Daniel | 2027 State SC . Preston is also explosive enough to go up and get the ball, even when it may look like it is overthrown. Most impressively, Preston has the balance and athleticism that keeps him from being tripped after catching the ball, which makes it almost impossible for him to be tackled. After watching a few of his highlights, it is clear that Preston is going to be a weapon at the next level. If this duo sticks together, buy stocks in fireworks.
Coming out of the foothills of the Smoky Mountains in Tennessee, Josh is 6-foot-4, 190-pound 2027 quarterback that people need to know about. Josh has a unique throwing motion that gets the ball out cleanly with a near-perfect spiral. With that, Josh throws with accuracy that allows him to hit his wideouts in places where only they can catch that. Another impressive trait of Josh’s is his range. Josh is more than capable of hitting deep routes with the same accuracy as his shorter routes and has no problem giving his targets room to get the ball and to gain yards after the catch. Overall, Josh is a quarterback with a high ceiling given his size already.
Jacob is quarterback coming out of the football hotbed state of Texas. With each highlight being more impressive than the next, Jacob proves that he is a threat to go deep in almost any circumstance. With that being said, Jacob also slings it with accuracy on this downfield shots. Additionally, Jacob is very smart with his ball placement and knows exactly where to place the ball in order for his wideouts to go up and get it. Most impressively, Jacob proves to be an improvisor in the pocket. If his pass protection breaks down, Jacob has no problem rolling out of the pocket and delivering a crispy ball to his receiver while he is on the run. Jacob has a very impressive collection of highlights at this stage of his career. He plays with a little hint of Patrick Mahomes in his style and is certainly exciting to watch.

Julius is a two-way lineman coming out of the highly sough-after state of Florida. As a defensive linemen, Julius proves to be capable of dominating the line of scrimmage and disrupting any run play coming his way. With that, he also has the speed to get into the backfield and bring the quarterback down before he has a chance to get the ball off. On the offensive side of the ball, you will find Julius playing either tight end or offensive line. Julius is a ferocious blocker who actively moves his opponent off the line of scrimmage and will get a few pancakes in the process. At an athletic 6-foot-2 and 225-pounds, he also has lined up at some Tight End during his pre-high school career. Ultimately I see him projecting to an active Defensive Linemen on the next level, but how he keeps that size/quickness ratio will dictate where he ends up.
